Been listening to the final Black Sabbath show from a few days ago.

- Steven Tyler still has it. Thought his voice was shot beyond repair but he's capable of doing shows with several days rest between them.

- The Yungblud dude that did Changes was impressive. Did a bit of a dive into his catalog and it's not my thing but he's got some pipes.

- Bummer to see Ozzy in a wheelchair but he still sounded OK. Geezer and Iommi can still deliver the goods at a high level.

- Hole in the Sky was a tough one for James Hetfield to sing.

Forgot to mention, Oasis played their first shows in 16 years and kicked f'n ***. Liam sounds like he did 30 years ago and I didn't think that would happen. Cigs and alcohol seemed to ravage his voice but he's gotten it back.

I didn't like them in the 90s but grew to appreciate them. Even if you don't dig them, you have to admire the fact a rock n roll band is making news and selling out stadiums in 2025.

I thought Tool, Metallica, and Slayer had the best sounding sets. Kinda curious who the band is that got kicked off the show that was originally supposed to play. A lot of rumors it was Megedeth or Motley Crue.

Currently revisiting a now-defunct British band, Federal Charm. Formed back in 2011. They gained popularity pretty quickly, began touring with well established bands, and put out 2 really good albums. The front man, Nick Bowden, decided to leave the band in 2016. Federal Charm brought on a new lead singer, but they were never the same.

There's A Light

For me, this is their best song, Silhouette

I saw The Duke Spirit and BRMC play twice in Lexington on Independent Record Store Day. Afternoon at CD Central and then a SOLD OUT show at The Dame. It was Leila Moss’ birthday and both bands hung out and played after closing until morning. I also saw both bands play the night before at The Mad Hatter in Covington. A GREAT WEEKEND !!

A lot of people think it's Soundgarden. They were on the original bill but didn't perform. They released a statement today citing a "busy schedule" or something to that effect. It makes sense in that they're probably not making much money these days and going from the west coast to England for a 20-minute set at 1 p.m. would be a waste of time unless there's money involved. I don't even know who sings for them these days though. They don't have enough pull to make ridiculous demands in 2025.

^Interesting. Would have never thought of Soundgarden. Didn’t even know they had a singer. Seems like an odd fit for that show but then again so does Sammy Hagar and he was there of course.

Never wanted to be no pop singer.
Never wanted to write no pop songs.

Been jamming out to Los Lobos. A Mexican-American band out of LA. They've been doing it for 50+ years now.

For fans, this is their best-known track

I love this one

And then there's this throw-down. I love this even more. Mas y Mas

And of course even casual music fans have heard this cover of the Ritchie Valens classic, La Bamba.

I have always loved Los Lobos and have seen them several times. Many have said they are the best American band out there, talent-wise.
Early on, there was much talk about David Hildago joining the Grateful Dead to replace Jerry Garcia ... fwiw. Hidalgo is AWESOME !!!
"Emily" is my favorite song of theirs.

Young recorded a solo acoustic version of "Powderfinger" at Indigo Ranch Recording Studio in Malibu, California in September 1975, and intended it for his unreleased mid-70s album Chrome Dreams.[13][14] He later sent the tape to his friend Ronnie Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd who were to use the song on their next album.[6][13] However, Van Zant died in a plane crash in October 1977, and Lynyrd Skynyrd never recorded the song

Enjoying some Joe Cocker today.

Pretty sure everyone has seen this video from Woodstock.

And this gem, with Leon Russell

And this killer jam

And when you’re feeling alright, this should be cranked up loud

Joe Cocker will be inducted into the RnR HOF later this year. A long overdue acknowledgement of his talent and influence.
