Following up their last thrash/metal offering, King Gizard just dropped some trance/techno stuff earlier this week that absolutely slaps (hello, fellow kids!). These guys just do whatever they want, and its always quality. And the sheer volume of music they release in a given year is just insane.

-yep. I have a bunch of their stuff on vinyl, hard(expensive)to keep up.

THANK YOU for the privilege of blowing your mind in this thread ... John Bonham's sister, Deborah, joining in on this extremely rare performance of one helluva song by one helluva singer ... absolutely exquisite:

LONG LIVE FREE !!!!!!!

New music Friday! What *relatively* new **** are you digging? Just a few recent ones for me:

If the future sounded like this I wouldn't complain.

The chord progression in the chorus is sublime.

Bedtime.

Enjoying the Stones' new album, "Hackney Diamonds." It was great to hear both Charlie and Bill on some tracks. And an all-star supporting cast, including Paul McCartney, Elton John, Stevie Wonder and Lady Gaga. I've ordered it on vinyl.

Listening to this album. A limited edition, one pressing run only collection of mostly unreleased material from Mop Top (Brooklyn, circa 1989) that just arrived at my house today.

This is a sampler that is on youtube. As far as I know, this the only stream of any parts of this album. An album that, IMO, is absolute fire.

I can't link YouTube from work but if you like Texas Country artist like Cody Jinks you should check out a guy named Creed Fisher. I went down the rabbit hole of listening to some of his stuff the other day and really enjoyed it.

If you like blues in the tradition of Buddy Guy, SRV, etc ..., Christine "Kingfish" Ingram will be at Headliners in Louisville on 11/16/23. He was recently featured on 60 Minutes (11/28/23) and will appear on Jools Holland on Saturday evening (11/04/23) ... only 24 years old ... he's stronger than new rope, imho. If you go, ENJOY THE SHOW !!!

There have been an absurd number of Franklin's Tower covers, since the Grateful Dead first recorded it, but this definitely takes the cake as the most unusual.
Henry Rollins/WARTIME psychadelic/funk cover of, as I said, Franklin's Tower.
I actually like it quite a bit.

Henry Rollins is an interesting dude. Saw him play a set in Huntington, WV at a festival, and people kept throwing trash on the stage. He stopped the song and threatened to kick the *** of the next person he saw throw something. Nobody threw a single thing for the rest of the show. He actually played "Liar" too, so teenage Mossip was stoked.

His best friend was murdered during a robbery back in the 90's and it was featured on Unsolved Mysteries. Theory goes Rick Rubin was at his house earlier in the week to discuss the production of a Black Flag record and parked his Rolls Royce out front. HR was sure that was what got them targeted in a somewhat rough neighborhood.
