Oldham County band continuing to make it big. This isn't what I'd normally be into but as I've gotten older my tastes have intensified. And yes, it's basically just screaming but the actual music is phenomenal.

This week's binge is Jeff Healey. Blind since the age of 1 due to a rare form of cancer. Started playing guitar at a very young age and developed a unique style of playing with the guitar flat on his lap. If you watched "Road House" with Patrick Swayze you saw the Jeff Healey band, as they played the house band in that movie. Sadly, cancer returned several times while he was an adult and finally got him back in 2008 at the age of 41.

An incredible talent!

Stephen Wilson Jr put on a HELL of a show tonight at Mercury Ballroom. This cat is the truth. He's a little country mixed with a little grunge. The sky is the limit for this dude. One of the best shows I've ever had the pleasure of attending. I'm gonna keep pumping this guy out there.

Deep Purple is probably responsible for more hearing aid sales than all other causes combined...

Ian Gillan HAS to be on the front man Rushmore.

I actually dreaded the coming Christmas music season because I’m so tired of the standard 94.5 rotation everyone plays, but WFPK’s top 500 Christmas songs countdown has been a Christmas miracle. Tomorrow wraps it up.

This week’s binge is British band, The Temperance Movement. They formed in 2011 and had pretty good success in the UK. At one point they opened for The Stones. In 2020 the lead singer left the band and it was feared that would be the last we heard from them. Then last month they announced they were back together and have booked a tour of Europe. Hoping a new album follows!

the Lone Wolf (Sonny Stitt) and Jughead (Gene Ammons) knocking one of the great jazz standards out of the park. These two collaborated together on some of the greatest hard bop jazz recordings of all-time.

No band exclusively, but have been jamming to Hair Nation channel on Sirius XM. I graduated high school in 86, so hair metal was my musical choice along with rap. So I will take turns listening to Rock The Bells channel 43, Flex 2K channel 49 and Fly channel 50 along with Hair nation. Been on the Hair Metal kick the last 3 weeks.
