I was on an Eric Clapton kick last night while working in my laboratory (basement) with a few adult beverages.

Early morning bill paying, food prep, and chores. This brightens my day. :)

She plays that piano with every fiber of her being.

Once bitten and twice shy
I keep my distance, but you still catch my eye
Tell me baby, do you recognize me?
Well, it's been a year, it doesn't surprise me
Happy Christmas, I wrapped it up and sent it
With a note saying "I love you", I meant it
Now I know what a fool I've been
But if you kissed me now, I know you'd fool me again

So a few years back I was searching YouTube for something that reminded me of the '80s with a heavy dose of goth and synth. I came across this little Canadian band called The Birthday Massacre. Listening to them just puts me in a comfort zone.

The album Preacher's Daughter by Ethel Cain. It's a concept album of sorts, and while overarching plot points of the album are described in each song's Genius.com page, you have to pay relatively close attention to figure out what's happening. Each song stands alone except for maybe the last one. The album really takes a turn in the third act.

The song American Teenager from the album is one of the best Springsteen worship songs I've heard. Really a phenomenal album.

Chris Stapleton while sipping bourbon tonight. Crying in my drink. Our beautiful 11-year-old rescue dog is succumbing to cancer and decisions are having to be made. Of course, Alexa plays "Maggie's Song," a name we considered for our dog before deciding on 'Molly.' Cheers...and tears.
