My advice would be to start another thread specifically for the facts of the case specifically titled for that, since this one has already gone of the rails.
Then it can be merged with this one and drive the count back up on this thread.

good luck finding the mod to "nix" non essential responses. whatever that is. they merged like twenty threads into this. and almost every page has linked info. you don't like people joking about the cheating of our rival? sorry but that will continue. For the first 20-30 pages this thread provided some really good information regarding the UL prostitute scandal. Now it's becoming little more than pictures of boobs, fat women and individuals spouting off about how many pages or views it's likely to get. IMO, if I'm a fan of some other school looking for real information on the scandal, I'd leave thinking UK fans are no better than UL fans.
Compare it to what the NC State fans have assembled about UNC's issues---which is a great summary of anything relevant to the scandal. (And some damn good detective work too.)
A suggestion to the Mods, nix the crap in this thread and keep the real content. And if someone wants to make an ongoing carnival of jokes about the UL scandal, start another thread.
Bodvar , take this advice from someone that has recently taken things too far in another thread. Back it down. I actually think you're a good dude, I don't think you're a troll but you're way too demanding for a newbie, you won't survive here with your current style. You're taking swings at some heavyweights that have been here a long time and in the end you will be the one that gets banned. So now I am a UL fan? LOL. Did you even bother to read my posts in this thread before Lumpy and his gang set in on me?
Name call then accuse of being a troll. You are a priceless bunch.
I don't think this one has gone off the rails at all. Yes there's a little bit of comedy in between the bits of news that come out about this issue but the train is firmly on the rails. My advice would be to start another thread specifically for the facts of the case specifically titled for that, since this one has already gone of the rails.
OMG, that is hilarious.Pitino and the Cardinals, cruising for disaster.

If any players are found by the NCAA to have been ineligible, then every game they played in must be forfeited. Pretty simple. Maybe the NCAA will rule that improprieties occurred but Pitino didn't know about it and it is therefore OK. Kinda like a Duke deal. I don't think ul is on par with Duke though. This is a good time for NCAA to flex their muscle and make a statement.
If they're found guilty, the banner will come down.
Bthaunert.......so if someone gives a player or players cash. = ineligible Or paid for a car or signed memorabilia ineligible. But 4 years worth of paying for prostitutes ( underage I might add ) but that extra benefit is ok?
if i say it's safe to post in this thread, it's safe to post in this thread.I like the smell of this thread in the morning, it smells like, victory. Someday this thread is going to end.
IMO, I'm not sure anything that was done would warrant a player being named ineligible. That was the biggest difference with UMass and Memphis is that the NCAA deemed players from each team ineligible due to taking money from an agent prior to the end of the season and cheating on his entrance exams. Nothing in the UL case would make a player ineligible imo.
In addition to UL please add UNC!!!
I disagree. For some of the reasons you listed, McGee must talk. Either way, he is finished in the college coaching profession. But this is going to become a criminal matter. Trafficking in prostitution, contributing to the delinquency of minors. Probably, fraudulent use of funds. Maybe, fraudulent use of public funds. But 1 of the most serious crimes involved in this would be participating in a conspiracy to hide it from an investigator or prosecutor. If that is on the table, the only way McGee avoids going to the slammer is to work with the prosecutor. In the end, I think he has to, unless he is willing to go to prison to protect someone higher up. And if McGee has a family, he won't be looking to go to prison if he can plea bargain his way out.I do not see anyway McGee continues in the coaching profession.
I bet he never talks for two reasons: Potential criminal investigation and the slightest chance he could coach again.
Talking does he no good that I can see.

That's gonna cost way moe than 450/party. I think it was closer to this.I have been inspired to create a masterpiece:

I disagree. This case is not like the UNC case. Both are wrong and immoral, but the UL case has much more serious criminal implications. I can see that a lot of fans still don't get how serious this is. Ask yourself what it takes to convince Pat Forde to turn publicly against Jurich and Pitino. The Powell book is explosive. Forde obviously believes she will hold up to scrutiny. He's probably right.Actually it would probably go much like this
"Yes, leave the NCAA out of it, this is a nation wide problem. It's happening everywhere. It is an "Institutional" problem not "NCAA" problem."
UNC has taught all the cheaters how to split hairs and conflate issues to the point where the truth is unrecognizable.
This old drunk who has been fired by more journalistic sources than I can count is attacking
Sports Illustrated for their article on Loserville Athletics and the total lack of respect of Women..
Come On Man!!! Billy has sunk so low that now he's going after one of his former employers.,
where are you working now Rum Pot..Catholic High School sports or The St.Matthews Voice?
It has been shown over and over that Louisville doesn't respect women.Pitino kept his job after Sypher
...Honest Bobby got rehired after a sordid affair with an 18 year old at Arkansas...now Strippers and Whores in the dorm..What's next..a lap dance in Turtleneck's office?..Spare me the histrionics Rum Pot..you need the 7 steps and I don't mean out the alley exit at Porcini..
Pot meet kettle.Sheesh...:chairshot:Billy's diatribe is on wave3.com
Posting messages from UL fans on our UK board is dumb. If you want to read the UL board why don't you stay over there?
Do you know someone on the Infractions Committee? They have just started their investigation. How do you know what they will conclude?Because the NCAA are corrupt hipocrites.

Coach Rupp called him the "Little Turd". Can't disagree with that.He has to kiss Turleneck's butt, since that is the only market that has listened to him, in 20 years.
The NCAA can ask guys who no longer have eligibility, but I don't think they'll get too far. Most of the info they get will be from current players. They don't really need much. Her evidence with a few corroborating statements is about all it will take. The isn't a court of law. The UL faithful need to understand this.Anyone hearing any talk of Trey Lyles being questioned in regard to the UofL prostitution scandal?
My cousin (big IU fan) lives in Indiana and supposedly has contacts close to the Lyles family and claims that Lyles and his father have already been questioned regarding their participation in the extra benefits that UofL was offering. While I would not be surprised if it turned out to be true that they were involved, I called BS on this rumor as I would imagine that the questioning would've started with those individuals actually named in the book. But he said, in true IU fan fashion, that Lyles' dad had his hand out during the recruitment process (thus the reason for his decommitment from IU). Told him it all sounded like "Loser's Limp" IU fan rumor because they were still butthurt over losing him to us.
I'm not saying it's ok at all. I hope they get penalties thrown at them if it is proven that this took place. I am simply showing the difference between what happebed at UL vs what happened at Memphis and UMass since that was the comparison by the OP.Bthaunert.......so if someone gives a player or players cash. = ineligible Or paid for a car or signed memorabilia ineligible. But 4 years worth of paying for prostitutes ( underage I might add ) but that extra benefit is ok?
You are forgetting something, Powell says money changed hands. If 1 other credible witness corroborates, UL is toast, and evidence of a conspiracy will have been established. Jurich and Pitino have been crazy to make all these public statements. They are thinking about saving the recruiting class and their jobs, but they are participating in a cover up that could bring a criminal investigation. The NCAA will have a hard time proving money exchanged hands. One side will claim it did, the other will say it didn't. Players might admit to sexual encounters, but did they actually see money get transferred? Did the players know they were hookers, or just party girls that they probably see on other campus visits.
They need hard evidence (i.e. documentation, confirmation of communication that an amount for services was agreed upon and rendered, etc.) that UL would either admit to or not be able to argue against in order for retro-active punishment IMO. Taking down banners is very hard to do.

I was just comparing the 2 with the information we know now. The OP asked the question about UL copared to UMass and Memphis, and I think, at this point, there are no similarities and the reason those 2 programs had to take banners down was that players were ruled ineligible. I'm not sure any players will be ruled ineligible when this is all said and done.If recruits were given toots, PAID FOR by Louisville money or a Louisville employee, that wouldn't make players ineligible? I fail to see that. Are you saying unless the university actually put the money in the HAND of the recruit to buy the toots, then it's NOT an issue?
Damn. UNC and Louisville have shown the way.
And cal was asked to remove a 500 win basketball.
I just smdh

love it Ben!Coach Rupp called him the "Little Turd". Can't disagree with that.
Do you actually have direct knowledge to support this kind of an accusation, or is it just sour grapes because they don't always say what you want them to say? The NCAA is an organization that has been formed, managed, and financed by its member schools. The member schools run it. The Infractions Committee consists of participants representing member schools. The NCAA does not have subpoena power. They are understaffed. But when they issue a public statement following an investigation, it's a sure thing that their investigators know the actual facts of the situation better than you and I do. The NCAA is no more hypocrites than their bosses, the member schools, are.You don't think the NCAA are a bunch of picky choosy hypocrites?
If you look for the definition of has been in the dictionary, it has a picture of Billy Reed. 30 years ago he was a solid and fair journalist. Nowadays, after being canned from so many jobs, he is a has been. He has become so anti-UK it is ridiculous.
His little bit on the Drew Deener show (another anti-UK joke) is stale and very, very, biased towards the red pigeons. I wish the Louisville market would have a pro-UK voice during the morning drive time. Other than Tom Leach at 9 and Matt Jones at 10 there is absolutely zero talk about Kentucky, unless it is in a negative light.
No, I'm not. I'm saying, at this point, it's way to early to know what is going to be proven. Obviously, if the NCAA says someone associated with UL is proven to have paid for the dancers, the penalties will come down. I still don't think if penalties come down, a player will be ruled ineligible. If a recruit had a dancer paid for him while on campus, that is less than $1000 of a benefit. If there are cases out there where a benefit of less that $1000 was given to a high school player and he was ruled ineligible, then I'd love to see it.Wait, you're saying exactly what WALL2 said though right? Give them the CASH, and it's a penalty. Buy it FOR them, it's clear?
