Whether the coach was aware or not is irrelevant. If these girls were paid for by a coach that HAS to be both (1) lack of institutional control and (2) impermissible benefits. I don't know man, the UofL people I know (one of whom was VERY connected during the Crum years) are very, very nervous. There's a growing sense of dread. The more reasonable and knowledgeable ones don't have anything to say at all.

I doubt it. The Louisville fanbase is loyal to a fault. They'll swallow anything Tom Jurich tells them to. When off the field problems occured during Petrinos first run they ignored it. When Rick Pitino had a full nights dinner date without leaving the table they never questioned it. When Charlie Strong insisted on bringing Clint Hurtt a known cheater they all embraced "Thats my guy!" There were a very minor few who objected to bringing Petrino back after he'd already burned them and had his biking accident in Arkansas but the vast majority of their fanbase was thrilled to have the head scumbag back. Of course if you go to their football forums you'll see all the fans complaining he's a changed man and not as big of an a-hole as he used to be. They want the old Bobby.
Louisville fans aren't disgusted by anything their school does, they revel in it.

The only thing I remember really disagreeing about is the bias in favor of schools like UNC and Duke and the anti-UK sentiment that exist. This is just another example of how you're wrong on that one. If this were UK, the story would be MASSIVE, Much much larger than it is currently for Louisville. If this were UNC the story wouldn't barely be reported.

I think it goes without saying that everyone at the party that wanted to drink, drank. Everyone that wanted drugs, did drugs.
Recruiting alone would be a reason for them to hire a new coach. I would almost prefer they keep Pitino as I really don't see any parent allowing their child to go and play for him. You clean house and hire a new coach and you can at least say "look all that old bad stuff is out of here, its a new regime and we're going to do things the right way". Of course they will more than likely be dealing with sanctions etc. I actually hope RP stays as i think it will be best case for rival fans.
