Funny story, I had a chance to talk to Joe B. right after the Sypher story broke in 2009.

His advice for Rick?

"Pay the woman!"

Joe B. couldn't believe that Rick had ever let it get that far and hadn't just written Sypher a check.

Wow! There are some hyper sensitive posters on here. Makes it hard to read a GOOD post sometimes.

Wouldn't it be awesome if Ramsey was somehow involved in this. It would explain why he has a job for life at 93.9 or whatever station he's on.

I think we should stop discussing this any further. Howie Lindsey and John Ramsey are on the radio today saying there is no truth to the story. I guess we should move on.
I would agree that it is a good idea to stop talking about this because there is no truth to this. If and that is a big if, they find anything on this, then you guys should have free reign to bash Howie and John on this and they should have to resign from their positions. Knowing those two guys, they would not put their reputations on the line unless they knew there was nothing in this story. So with that, I think this should stop until this is finalized. Like I said, if there is something to this story then Howie and John should be removed from radio as their credibility will be shot but until then these pointless discussions need to stop. Howie and John are reputable, close to the program, and have their livelihood on the line with this. Do you really think they would be saying this if they thought there was even a remote chance that this happened?

Why bring his politics into such a joyous time. I doubt either Republicans or Democrats are in favor of prostitution.

Just for fun.

I am a Republican
I am a big Matt Jones fan
I have no stance on Prostitution
I do have a huge problem with a state university using prostitution to gain a recruiting advantage with 17 and 18 year old kids(and their Dads).

Then? THEN?? As long as this guy is sweating bacon grease and defending the moral of Pitino we have all the free reign we want. The MFer already ate all of the centers out of the krispy kreme doughnuts.

You have to be a UK fan trolling. You just do

Almost.

  1. Stockholm syndrome, or capture-bonding, is a psychological phenomenon in which hostages express empathy and sympathy and have positive feelings toward their captors, sometimes to the point of defending and identifying with the captors.

How do Howie and Ramsey explain Andre McGee wiring Katina $500 from California to Louisville when Blakeney was visiting UL?

Louisville - The University of Louisville basketball program has achieved yet another first. It is the first program in the history of NCAA sports to have a TV-M (Mature) rating assigned for its basketball broadcasts. This will prevent parents from being forced to send their children out of the room when Louisville Basketball is being discussed.

The decision made by the networks to affix the TV-M rating is fairly simple. The broadcast teams doing UofL games will not only have to know their X’s and O’s, they will also need to be comfortable discussing sex with strippers and ho’s.

Be advised: With the TV-M rating parents who use Parental Controls settings on their televisions may need to adjust or password protect in order to watch or record a Louisville basketball game.

[laughing] @ the fact that the UofL fan thinks Howie and Ramsey have their livelihood on the line.
You don't? With these acqusations, you don't think they are putting a lot on the line saying that there is nothing to this story if they weren't absolutely sure? I am a big fan of both but I have to admit that I will be very angry and feel lied to if it turns out that this happened. I trust these guys from my info and that trust would then be gone. So yes, their livelihood is on the line. That's why I think nothing happened.

I guess UL hasn't figured out how to spin that yet so Howie and Lindsey don't have their talking points on that just yet....

Meantime, I say we continue discussing this fascinating dumpster fire...

Oh, so what you are saying is, they have no direct knowledge one way or the other, but since they have close ties to the program, they are regurgitating what the program is telling them. Guess what - WHAT ELSE WOULD THE PROGRAM TELL THEM. These discussions will continue and most likely pick up steam. Oh, tell me this, why would Blakeney remember pimped out daughter number two from Embassy Suites? Just two ships passing in the grind?

So does the author of the book. He won a Pulitzer. He works for the Indiana Business Journal. The IBJ published it. If false, this is libelous stuff. It could ruin his career. It could ruin that newspaper, and newspapers already are struggling even if reputable. All Howie and John could lose are their jobs. Even then I would think that is doubtful since all they would have to do is say "we were wrong; this is true" Journalists make mistakes, and calling something not true tends to not be against the law. They just don't believe it.

The author of the book put his reputation, his career, and even opened himself up to a potential lawsuit.

The madame made herself look absolutely awful and opened herself up to potential criminal investigation.

Not really, and definitely not their livelihood. Do you even know what livelihood means? Plus, let me tell you what happens when this is proven to be true, even though Howie and Ramsey say it isn't true. Nobody will give a damn, because everyone already expects them to defend UofL at all cost.

For the most part they'll get called out and laughed at locally, but neither has such a reputation that they must worry about the ramifications of being wrong. Jeopardize their livelihood? [laughing]

No, I don't. They are UL homers. If they are right, glory to them from the UL faithful. If they are wrong, glory to them for defending UL, form the UL faithful. But you don't really understand that, do you.

and Dick Cady.......

and the wire receipt that's in the book

and the phone records showing McGee talking with her before the wire

and Blakeney being in Louisville for his visit when she says this went down

and Blakeney acknowledging that he remembers the daughter from the Embassy Suites

I mean, I guess you are right....other than that, there is not all that much proof.

Have they promised to resign if they're wrong? If they are so sure nothing happened they should be willing to bet their jobs on it.

Howie and Ramsey are kind of tone deaf in this situation. Not even their fearless leaders are proclaiming nothing happened. You would think they would take their cue from them.

Oh well, seeing the UL fans getting their hopes built up only to see them come crashing down later will only make all of this that much sweeter.
