The sad part is that this is really proving to be true in our society in general. You could add UNC****'s shenanigans to this but also most of the actions at the top of our political system on both parties. Well, you can add the world to that. China building islands and claiming them as "long standing, traditional territories" so they can overfish and mine the ocean with impunity, Russia justifying subverting its neighbors, funding and materially supporting rebels in those neighbors. USA justifying alliances with feudal leaders of arab countries that we can get to agree with some foreign policy objective, the internet being the source of obfuscation instead of promoting transparency. It is disappointing to think that I'll live long enough to see the world fall into some sort of distopian society that only a bad science fiction writer would attempt to publish, but there it is. We have few morals, no absolutes, little that we will hold fast. We have become self-serving at the cost of any moral high ground or ideals.
what happened to the times when people would be accountable for their actions. And just man up and say I messed up, what's the consequences for what I've done.
Instead of trying to lay blame on everyone and everything except for themselves.
Pitino and the admin. at UL shouldn't be in a position to lead young adults when they're to cowardly to be responsible enough to admit to mistakes they've made and take responsibility.
Why anyone would let their kids play for him is beyond me.
Now they're accountable for getting tomorrow's basketball players laid.Accountability lies with the UL Board of Trustees. It's preposterous of the all the stuff going on over there with WhoreGate and MoneyGate that someone on the Board hasn't showed, to my knowledge, any accountability. Here is UL's "missions statement" on accountability from their site:
Accountability
Touching the lives of all Kentuckians
More than ever, University of Louisville is showing accountability in all that it does.
But what exactly do we mean by accountability?
Clearly, the university is accountable for educating tomorrow’s leaders. But it is accountable in many other ways, too.
UofL is accountable when it spends tax and tuition dollars wisely, protects and improves the environment, creates community partnerships, supports cultural and artistic endeavors, helps businesses succeed, builds healthier communities and promotes research and medical breakthroughs.
Nearly every Kentucky citizen has been affected by a program or initiative that had its beginnings at UofL. Our university is making the Commonwealth a better place to live, work and enjoy life.
That’s what we mean by accountability.
ACC at its best. The sad part is that this is really proving to be true in our society in general. Sorry... feeling more than a bit pessimistic today.
