i think i understand your viewpoint. i don't revere/worship athletes either----although one could say i did as a younger person. i washed my hands of pro sports nearly 20 years ago but i still enjoy college sports---although it's becoming more and more difficult each year to have any respect for college as well.

Louisville fans sit and frolic in their little bubbles on their internet forums completely blind and deaf to the realities of the athletics programs to which they cling to sycophantically. They are, at this very moment, clamoring all over themselves to make whatever excuse they can that will assuage their obvious fears that some part of this mess is true. I agree with some of your stance. We live in a day and age where athletes no longer feel like they are role models. This society is teaching them that they don't have to be a role model if thats what they choose and lots of them couldn't care less. This "me" society is horrible, in way more ways than one. You shouldn't get to "choose" if you are a role model or not; if you are in the entertainment/sports/public eye professions, it just comes with the territory.

I have to ask because Sunday I was at the Zoo for their Halloween festivities and saw several people wearing Louisville shirts, I myself would be too disgusted to where my blue in public. I then noticed several kids who where dressed as players from lil' brothel and I was thoroughly disgusted that parents would let them in public in that get up.

Until this is resolved and the administration fired I would hide and only watch games by myself.

I was a fan of Eddie when he took over. Until he got a DUI in Lex before ever coaching a game. Knew he was bad news.
Wasn't a fan of Rick when he took over because I was working in the northeast at the time and read too much about him. I warmed to him after I got to see him action. I cooled on him a few years later when I began to see through him.
I was a fan of Tubby when he took over. I cooled on him after a few years when his substandard product no longer was acceptable to me.
I was a fan of BCG when he took over. Until he showed his true colors early on. Think he was on my good side for about a month.
Have been a fan of Cal since the deal with John Chaney. I liked the way he handled himself.
