I think this thread might go another year.
Maybe longer...depends on how long the ncaa drags its heels before handing down sanctions. You know it'll have to have a pretty good run after the fact so we can talk about how they: a) got hammered or b) skated. Whichever way it falls, we'll still wanna dissect the decision. So long as we keep subsequent discussions on here, this will be the first thread in history w/ over 1,000,000 views and 25,000 replies.

This thread will keep UL's infamy living for infinity. P.rick's precious bro-in-law will forever have his name tied to a ***** scandal involving minors. What a legacy...

Why does uofl have a dorm hall and tourney named after Ricks brother in law? He had nothing to do with the school.

The Kentucky State Senate just b!tch slapped UL and its Board of Trustees.

"In a move that blindsided Senate Democrats and appeared to infuriate some of them, Senate Republicans on Thursday produced a surprise bill that would abolish the University of Louisville board of trustees and create a new system of appointing its members."....

Wait, so SACS gets to tell a state school how its board must be made up and how board members can be removed? They need to worry about fake classes and keep their noses out of state business. I'd say to call their bluff. They will NEVER strip a major universities accreditation, ever. Certainly not over some technical issue that has nothing directly to do with the education of students.

So when does the NCAA announce UL's penalties? Let Pitino vacate some wins in addition to pregnancies.

To be fair, this thread is a bunch of different threads combined.

I think SACS made the point that they expect that the board should have a reasonable procedure for appointment and dismissal from the board that is clear and free from undo influence from the outside. I think that is a reasonable requirement. It is my understanding that the board as it stood before the Bevin broohaha did not conform to the rules that were in place. Given how political it all is now, nothing good can come of either leaving it, replacing it. Wouldn't it be nice if the people in power wouldn't use these boards as a rewards/punishment system? The board is supposed to enable the proper governance of the university. THat doesn't seem to have been happening in Louisville for years.

SACS is supposed to validate the legitimacy of an education. The board should be none of their concern, certainly not in a public university. As I said though, they will never strip accreditation from a major university and certainly not over some technicality which is really none of their business. It takes quite a stretch to explain how board member structure could ever delegitimize a students education.
