Birmingham Bowl is looking for a 5-7 team to play Georgia Southern.
Ga Southern and App State are huge rivals. That might end up being a good game.App State signed up after 7 teams declined.
Birmingham Bowl is looking for a 5-7 team to play Georgia Southern.
The two teams played on November 6th. Georgia Southern won 25-23. The two teams and schools absolutely HATE each other. App State is sort of a hippy, laid back type school and Georgia Southern is about as good ol' boy as a school can be. Georgia Southern makes Mississippi State look like Ole Miss. The Georgia Southern/App State game is always the biggest of the year for both teams. This is going to be comparable to South Carolina playing Clemson in a bowl game.I'm sure the OP was being sarcastic, but this year, I think our program just needs to concentrate on hitting the "reset" button going into the spring and not worry about preparing for a bowl game.
App State vs. Georgia Southern, however, isn't a bad matchup for the Birmingham Bowl, even if they both play in the same division of the same conference. lol
The say it helps you so much to have those extra practices although it looks like it hurt usPlease provide one compelling, logical reason why we would have wanted to attend or watch another game this year.
Please note the criteria of compelling and logical.
Most teams have 3 cupcakes on the schedule each year. If you can't win 3 of your P4 games in a season, you shouldn't be thinking about going to a bowl. Counting wins over teams like Furman, Wofford, Mercer, etc. is farcical.Any team with any self-respect should decline a bowl invitation if they have a 5-7 record. 6-6 is pushing it. They used to be rewards for a good season - 5-7 is not unless you won maybe 2 games or less the year before. I guess you could stretch it if that`s the case.
