I thought I heard him mention WV in an interview but didn't catch the whole thing. I can't find anything on the web about it.

He said after the wvu loss he realized wvu was deeper and faster and he had to upgrade their speed and depth on defense. He said That's the difference between Clemson now and then, better D enabled shut down OU in 2nd half.

Okay I caught the tail end of an interview where I thought he said they don't schedule a bunch of easy games like WV. And Isomeone told me they heard the same thing. But I wanted to find his quote because I wasn't sure what I really heard.

How did Iowa do in the Rose Bowl? I missed it. [laughing]

McCaffrey was a beast. That was an ***-whooping. For the record, I have never stepped foot in Iowa, but might have to sometime after being introduced to farmersonly.com by the Stanford band.

Wait, he said a team with Stew recruits had more depth and was faster then Clemson????

I think time is the best judge of how left his team and what Dana has done since taking over.

Why would yo wan ignore a valid point just because you disagree with it?

Can you not demonstrate the Mountaineers are a better and deeper team today than when Holgorsen inherited the team?

That would be far more meaningful than saying you are going to stick your fingers in your ears and tune out any view you don't like.

Yes, this years team is better but just I posted below that Danas redshirt freshman class and soph classes now only have 10 and 12 kids left. Im not sure what the future holds. Dana signed 48 kids in those two years and only 22 kids are left.

I heard Dabo scream like a child and then shout.................."How Bout Them Tigers!" I did note that his wife was all smiles. Life is good in Tigertown.

lol crybaby just because your idol has done relatively nothing with his own recruits and won the Orange Bowl with Coach Stew's recruits.
Owned... If that crybaby troll would stop being a lying POS, and actually ignore the objective posters, we would hear a lot less whining on here...

You guys do realize coaches who have the worse loss of their career & give up the most points IN BOWL HISTORY they will say whatever to come up with an excuse as to why they lost, even years later.

Bottom Line in the Orange Bowl that went WV70CU33 as my license plate once said was WVU out coached Clemson. They had a better game plan and burned them 4 times on a jet sweep play that Clemson had no answer for. They started to quit after the fumble on the goal line that went 99 & a half the other way. Add in Taj Boyd (and HIS FATHER) and Clemson went away like a balloon with a hole in it.

If you want the real time truth from ole ""Dabo"", remember him saying 2 things from that Orange Bowl beforehand:
1. "Nothing matters less than the score at halftime!"
2. "People will remember the Clemson Defense after this game!"

He was correct on both counts

Btw my prediction is BAMA over Clemson HUGE.

Lets not get away from the fact that Dabo said we had more depth and speed then CU. I do agree we had a good game plan but talent was the difference. BTW, Austin made some crazy moves.

You are very mistaken if you think WVU had more depth than Clemson in that game. WVU had the 2 best players on offense 1 was a qb and the other 1 was the quickest on the field, but the difference in that game was clearly preparation, scheme, and coaching.

Clemson fired their D coordinator Kevin Steele after that game only weeks after he had signed a multi year contract.

Clemson was humiliated worse than WVU after the 94 sugar bowl. They gave up 10 touchdowns in an Orange bowl and would have been more but Dana did not want to run it up.

If it would have been the HBC from USC, he would have put 100 on them.

You're right. It was all scheme. WVU players running over around and through Clemson was just a figment of everyone's collective imagination.

We were sold on Dana by Ollie and our fans bought into his car salesman talk. Also, we were sold on how bad Stew left the program.

That's the correct answer right there. Stewart was never going to get us to a national championship and Ollie thought we needed a change if we were going to compete for championships in the Big 12. And Ollie was probably right. We were a top 20 program with top 20 talent but not top 10.

The problem was so many people loved stew that Ollie and his trolls had to make stew into a loser to justify letting him go. He had to make it look like the sky was falling (which it wasn't). I agree we needed to make the change but the attack on stew was totally unjustified. The problem Ollie faced is that the guy we brought in to take us to the next level actually took us down a level. Now the danapologists were left to blaming Stewart for Dana s first years of epic fails but now that he's had time to build his own team they can't blame Stewart anymore. All that is left is to say the big 12 is great and even though we are a perennial top 20 program, you say wvu place in top 15 all time wins was just a fluke.

In total, danapologists love Dana more than wvu. That's why I have nothing for them. Any time u support the coach so much that you cannot see his firing is what's best for the program means you've lost perspective. It's like The wife who blames the hooker for her husband's affairs.

As a Reds fan I feel like my top two programs are just making money decisions and not trying to win. It's all about money, not winning.

After next years class graduates we could almost say the cupboard is bare. Go look at the numbers. 12 in the Soph class and only 8 left in the redshirt freshman class. The future is not good!!!

I think you forget that Stew was set up to go out a hero. He kicked his own tent pole down and that's where he ended up... under the tent.

Yeah, because the CIW situation was such a good idea. That was like bringing a new women home and telling your current wife you want her to stay on for one more year to teach the new women to be your wife, and then you were letting her go. That would go just about as well as it went for WVU.

5150 is right. Once Dana arrived and stuff started surfacing about his checkered past and present, BS didn't care for the guy. Seeing it was a caustic situation, they threw stew under the bus and made up all this crap about no talent, attrition, etc. Stew was a very good recruiter but not a very good ball coach x o guy. I agree he needed to go but we downgraded
