So we have hit the 1/3 marker in what used to be the first measuring stick of the season. Now we have playoff qualifiers already 🤦🏻

I promise that if the lock hits :00 before I’m done I’ll give you back :01.

1 - That the St Laurence of old isn’t the St Laurence of this year.
2 - That LWE is still better than HF
3 - That Providence has a seat at the table
4 - That JCA and SF might not
5 - That the NSC still isn’t very good unless your Zion or Mundelein
6 - That the Public League is bad bad
7 - That Westmont has more wins than Warren is noteworthy
8 - That the Western Big 6 is a hot mess
9 - That the mighty have fallen - once dominant Rockford Boylan is 0-3
10 - That the same can be said about Barrington

That’s all - be excellent to one another

This might be the worst football performance for all of Lake County that I can recall.

All the NSC ‘Bluebloods’ were a combined 0-8 heading into wk3.

I missed on Barrington, but not Warren. I thought the Blue Devils had a repeatable philosophy and a confident coach to not allow his team to take a step back.

I think Libertyville is decent - Stevenson and Warren aren’t good. Antioch is pretty solid. Jury is out on Carmel. Beat two teams that haven’t won yet and got roasted by the only good team they played. It’s clearly a down year for lake county football

What’s the deal with Barrington? Looks like Hersey is gonna steam roll them. Was hoping for a good game on Thursday

They graduated a ton from last year, haven't gotten much out of their QB's so defenses aree ganging up on the running back. Agree they'll l likely be 0-4 after this week but all they'll need to is eek out three wins to make the playoffs- and then they're still probably one of those teams you don't want to face.

On the other hand.. Hersey and Prospect. Seen both and I don't see either of them losing before week nine. I think it's gonna be a showdown of two 8-0 teams. From what I saw I actually like Prospect better.

Many fixable mistakes for a YOUNG St. Laurence team. Two of their losses they simply beat themselves. I hope they can keep improving and scrape out 3 wins.

Hersey/Prospect is a great rivalry game and week 9 should be electric.

Can’t wait for that week 9 match up. Might have to skip this weeks Hersey game to go see Fremd v Prospect. Might be a snooze fest if Barrington is this bad

8 - Moline and Rocky are hot messes. Everyone else seems to be clicking along as expected. Moline and Rocky could both be 0-5 when they meet week 6. That will make for a fun rivalry game.

We learned that no one seems to want to win in the TRAC Mississippi division. The Rock division on the other hand...oh boy, the next 6 weeks could be fun!

We learned that Byron still runs the Big Northern.

We learned that Galena is pretty good...but we will find out how good next Friday when Lena comes to town.

They might be young. But if you keep getting punts blocked, having kicks returned for touchdowns and can't even line up properly on a free kick, youth is not your major problem.
Like I said, fixable mistakes. All that and more went wrong and they still had a chance to beat the Corsairs.

Sensitivity training is in the very near future for a few students of a south suburban team

my social media is flooded with articles about what took place
They deserve to be punished. I recall schools such as Rich South after it changed & Tnornton throwing rocks at the busses after games there & cussing the schools that beat them which is a big reason the Sica disbanded. Ironically when it did a board member from Lincoln Way who had her comments overheard was let go for such comments & it made for hard feelings.

Stortz was at Cary Grove in 2025 not at Barrington - he’s still at Cary just not coaching football.

Son just told me they were on their 4th stringer at QB on Friday. Seems that might be playing a factor as well
Ok I am going to go back in time, Stortz coached the most unbelievable 4 playoff games in 2011, with one game the craziest thing I have ever seen in high school football. Week 2 in the playoffs in 2011 and they faced Glenbard West, undefeated with 2 division I players. Tommy shutt was one of them who went to Ohio State. The other one went to Stanford at an offensive tackle. I think Glenbard West was undefeated and was nationally ranked. Anyway, Stortz’s team lost their starting QB the week before. No QB? No problem for Stortz. He came up with a new offense in a matter of days and put the starting wide receiver in the wildcat and relied on their punter to flip the field with every punt. They had 4 first downs the entire game and won the game 10-3 in Glen Ellyn. It was the best coaching job I have ever seen. They made it to the semis and almost knocked off Rockford Boylan with no college bound players on the team and again no QB. That is who Barrington does not have this year.
