Hard to believe we have jut three regular season weeks to go.

Some crazy stuff happening that's for sure.

1 - That we officially have our playoff qualifiers
2 - That we need to fast forward to Rice-Loyola
3 - That the playoffs will have a weird look this year without JCA, WWS, B-Mac etc.
4 - That the hitters have started the wrong kind of streak
5 - That the Maine Southing streak in the CSL still continues
6 - That no one in the DVC is better than Neuqua Valley
7 - That there is more than one really good downstate team and Edwardsville proved that
8 - That having pride and being boastful about your team isn't disrespectful - we've all done it.
9 - That if LZ is truly all the way back, they have their chance to prove it this week vs Stevenson.
10 - That Class 7A is as wide open as can be - should make for a great playoffs.

Thems my thoughts.

12. I think Hoffman Estates is in for the first time since '94, even if they lose out. They are 5-1 w/ 28 pp. They are guaranteed 9 more points from MSLW teams if they lose out. That's 37. They get additional points if BG can beat E.G. and Wheeling, MW beats D'field, and Sreamwood beats EA.

15. That for LWW, losing 4/5 of your offensive line and your stud running back is too much to overcome.

That there is a jump in overall depth and talent as you move up to 7A / 8A. Ask LWN and LWW juniors from last year.

Be reminded that their 2 losses came from schools that are a combined 11-1 and one of those was H-F.

Actually WIU not sure what you are trying to say?
There are quite a few former LWN players playing this year including the QB who seems to be handling the jump in class pretty well.

Bwm57. I already am out of topic with the reply. Talk to the kids at LWE from Heaven on Harlem. HF and the Brook are not Bloom, Tridge,Tton, Andrew and the like. There is a 2 QB system at East also. LWW ..if you excuse 2 losses to teams combined for 1 loss, also look at who you have beaten with the signature win vs. ....Bloom?

I'm sure they consider themselves honored just to be there.

Last year, coincidentally, West finished the regular season with 2 losses to teams that combined for 1 loss after Game 9. That would be Thornton (8-1) and LW North (9-0).

who was out besides Mahoney?
I was actually referring to the loss of most of the offense from last years state semifinalist team, not from this years team. This years offensive line (other than their D1 left tackle) and RB are just not providing this team with any consistent offensive push. The loss of Mahoney (the starting LG) does not improve the situation.

First, I would like to apologize to LakeCtyNewt. I made a comment on something I learned this week about LWW and it seemed to take your post another direction. Not my intention.

WIU, not sure what the comments about change in class have anything to do with the Lincoln Way programs at the moment. All three Lincoln Way schools (LWW, LWE and LWC) added more kids to their programs due to LWN closing. This forced many starters from last year to take bench positions. It also (in theory) gave all three schools more depth at each position. This should have given LWW a better chance at filling all the positions that they lost on offense. My comment was saying they were still unable to do that even with the added depth and the offense is struggling because of it.

I also don't think class is as important during the regular season as it is once you get in the playoffs. Many teams play schools from multiple classes during the season. Conferences are not made up of teams from one division (6A, 7A etc.). The jump in class becomes more noticeable once the playoffs start and LWW will go from 5A to 7A. That is when change in class becomes a big issue. Now it is just whether your schedule includes good teams or bad teams and so far, the lack of offense has hurt LWW with their current schedule not change of class as you suggested. If this continues, the change in class in the playoffs will only amplify the situation and a quick one and done could occur unless their defense (which is really good) continues to make up for the offensive woes.
