What did we learn week ?!?!?

Just about to the halfway point of he year. Kind of a boring week with not many close games. Better weeks ahead for sure

1 - That the Centrals from Grayslake and Joliet won their Super Bowls this week.
2 - That traditional powers Nazareth, Montini, JCA and Bishop Mac are quickly approaching must win modes.
3 - That two of the best stories in this here season are Hoffman Estates and St Joe's - both 4-0.
4 - That Notre Dame for now looks to be the best the ESCC has.
5 - That Cameron Ruiz is one of the best athletes in the state from Lakes.
6 - That Warren gave Lake Forest a Melvin
7 - That it just feels right when St Laurence is good. And they are
8 - That no one appears to be able to slow down HF.
9 - That neighborhood rivalries - particularly on grass fields are not overrated.
10 - That when LWE gets the two quarterback system mastered look out.

That's my thought for this week. On to week 5

I learned the gut level feeling about an H-F upset by Lockport must have been bloat from drinking too much grape Kool-Aid of the Purple and White. The Vikes (and consequently LWE) may have just elevated themselves to another level. Now the Porters are doing some very nice things with their offensive kids and their kicking game is really top-notch. Most teams defensively, however, are not matching up too well with the H-F offense. On every snap, you virtually hold your breath, because it has the potential to land in the end zone. At 3-1 now, Lockport still has to come through The 'Brook, LWW and LWE, so they will be battle-tested should they qualify for the playoffs.

I would say that distinction now goes to Marist. They've beaten Simeon, Carmel (who just beat Naz) and MCC (in convincing fashion.....45-0). The Redhawks look to be the team to beat in the ESCC.

That Rockford Boylan will win the NIC-10 this season, with only 1 more competitve game on the schedule on week 9, the Titans appear to be back to their former selves. We will find out in weeks 10 and 11 just how good the Titans are again.

That the MSL West has got it goin' on! Top 5 teams went a combined 18-2 in non-conference play with the MSL West's best soundly beating the CSL South's best.

I wish the MSL had those mid season Thr night games. I always would hit a game. 630 game times no sophs that I recall either.

I'm pretty sure that was due to Rosh Hashanah falling on a Friday, which it hasn't recently. I know back in my playing days at Maine East we(and the entire CSL) always had 1 Thursday night game per season due to the holidays.

Thanks Bowie. My set up to record is too simple to do caller questions though. I try to encourage questions tweeted at me or emailed when I figure out who I'm having on next.
