You wanted us to be "All In" as THIS was the year we finally hit that big bowl game. How shall we proceed now, Sunshine Pumperz ?

So you want to blame this on the fans who have tried to stay positive about the program? I have been an optimist - but here's the problem - we assumed we had competent football coaches! Nothing the fans can do about this NOW!

Their is a bright side to this - we should now see UKAA make a move to either a hire new AD or hire a Football Czar who would have complete control of the football program. Start the interview process and hire a "Czar" asap!

Go Big Blue!

Don't start none, won't be none.

So, let me get this straight, people are positive about the program and they try to stay optimistic, but you don't like that?

Is that right?

If they are supporting the coaching staff now, that's terrible, but to shame them for their overall optimism is pretty crappy. Seems like something petty.

No, that's wrong. People are positive about the ADMINISTRATION and BASH the fans for being upset over losses. They also accuse people of being fake fans and not caring about the football program.

Sorry you don't understand, but I'm not surprised. Many people here don't ever get it.

See, not a lot of people explain it like you did in the first paragraph, which makes complete sense now.

Having said that, your last two sentences make you seem like a big *******, which I'm sure you're not in real life. They just weren't necessary.

If you don't have any knowledge on the matter, don't comment. Stoops is trash

Being a football fan, I have knowledge. Not spending my life on a message board, I don't know what the hell a sunshine pumper is other than what it means in other forums. If you want to rename it Administrator Pumper or Mitch Barnhart can do no wrong pumper, then it's completely understood.

Maybe clarify terminology a bit.

I don't care. I've been bashed by the gaslighters for years and I was RIGHT. So they can all deal with it now. I'm not going to be kissyface with a bunch of haters who are deliberately gaslighting the fans on this board, trying to shame-bully them into supporting a total failure like Barney. I suspect many of them are paid by the administration.

Maybe, but honestly as a person (me) who sees the term 'sunshine pumper' on other forums not related to football and without specific definitions pointing to administrator, it would have been nice to just have a definition laid out without the attitude.

I do support that something has to be changed because the program is going downhill under four years of Stoops. The football program pays the bills, the fans pay for a good product, which they don't get, and decades of frustration can turn any fan into a doubter. Yesterday was the first time in forever where I just turned the television off and walked away. I have never done that with a UK football game. Ever.

With that said, I apologize for the misunderstanding.

Fair enough, I appreciate your comment. Most people don't bother to try to reach an understanding.

No worries. I do have a protective knee-jerk reaction to our fanbase. I just hate seeing the family fight. I understand what you're saying now, though.

I'm not sure Stoops will survive the year, regardless of buyout cost.

Understandable. There is no light currently. That blew out last year. Stoops seems like a nice guy with good intentions, but I don't think he's the coach we need at all (not that I had to tell you that).
LOL...I'm still in wonderment over the "nice guy" thing...all I've ever seen is him being gruff with reporters and grumpy on the field. What's so nice about him? I'm asking earnestly.

It's just the fact that we are in such a horrible situation. I apologize for calling you an idiot. Just not good times right now

Just what I have heard from players. They said he is down to earth. Not Joker down to earth, but down to earth in comparison to a Rich Brooks.

There's a clear distinction between optimism and fools. 8-4 were the fools. 6 wins were the optimists.

Shutzhund, I believed we could have won 8 game - not ashame to admit it. I had my reasons - I thought we would be better coached for sure - but here is the other reason - I said it before the season - I think I have been proven correct to this point of the season. Missouri, Miss. State, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Austin Peay, and New Mexico State have all been shown to be as weak as I thought. We were ahead 35-10 at half time last week also - I think Southern Miss is a good team - but I even think you might admit we should have won that game. That is SEVEN wins! Now, if the team won those 7 games don't you think we possibly could have "upset" Georgia at home? Georgia has not looked that good so far to me. Do you think we would have had a chance to beat whomever we played in a bowl game?

Regardless, we don't need to worry about what any fan's predictions are or where at this point. I don't think most people give a damn about that! I think we are more concerned with getting our football program turned around! We need to make changes, and the first one concerns changes concerning how the UKAA picks an runs the AD department. You don't have to fire the AD - if you really like the guy - you just add another person who has exclusivity of running the football program. But that call is not up to me or virtually anyone else on this forums!

I remain positive and support my alma mater!

Go Big Blue!

You poor guy!!

I picked 5-7 but I secretly hoped for 7-5. Now I openly hope for 5-7.

No, I'm not blaming the optimistic fans at all. Yes, there was a contagious hope during the off season that THIS year would be different. The idea of a better future and improved UK football program was being sold, starting with Mitch and going all the way down to the staff. I guess I just didn't believe the hype as this same old, grandiose vision of competitive football has been peddled to us before.....all to amount to ZERO in the end.

I'm just venting out of frustration, that's all; not trying to assign blame as there are too many variables that contribute to our woes.

We are all frustrated but there's no need to go after or name call one another. We all want the same thing from the football program and can debate without lowering ourselves.

We have 6-8 winnable games left. My faith in this staff is at an all time low but we are still just two weeks in. A whole lot of positive can still happen, no matter how unlikely it seems.

I'm not here to bicker with anyyone about your or my opinions. Some people try to see the best while others rejoice in the misery of others. It's your life - you choose whatever makes YOU happy. I have found having a positive outlook on life is much better than the other.

We need a less down to earth guy like Brooks evidently. He at least had a couple of decent seasons.

A player I know once told me the difference between Joker and Brooks. He said Joker will hug you and tell you life is going to get better. Brooks will tell you to pick yourself up and work your *** off to get where you need to go.

Two different strategies and he respected the hell out of Brooks.

Wait, are those my only two choices? See the best or rejoice in misery? What about just being realistic? Do I get that choice too?

What???

He left several programs in the middle of the night, in the lurch, committed adultery, misused public funds, and lied about it at every opportunity?

When did this all come out?
