Think about it. He's an excellent defensive coach. He knows the area. He's been a college head coach before - the Citadel, 2001-03. And the best of all, he'd have to bring an OC and hand over control. One MAJOR negative, he wasn't very successful at the Citadel: 3-7, 3-9, 6-6. However, neither was Bobby Ross.

with powerhouses App. State and Wofford and to a lesser degree Furman. He did quite well there considering he has to recruit players who are willing to submit to their knob hazing rituals-that must be tough for a football "star" to take.

My only knock on him would be his recruiting, but he could get good assistants for that. </p>

to bet that whatever issues he or his family had with Starkville would be all but be forgotten when his $1.5 million pay raise clears the bank....

EJ didn't leave Starkville, he left Croom.
According to a very close family member to EJ, he left Croom (who was controlling and meddlesome) and because they wanted to get back to SC. BUT we know where he went before he finally arrived at USC.
