I don’t spend much (except on food) but I like little computer and phone gadgets. All kinds of adapters, earbuds, cables, batteries, earbud cases, etc. Amazon is a baaaaad thing for someone like me. Luckily a lot of my stuff is cheap.
I've got the Christmas light thing too. Just haven't stepped up to computer controlled channels yet.
Golf and my Vette. That said, I have the money so it’s not wasteful to me. Life is too short to not spend some money on the things you enjoy. Just be responsible about it.

Your golf cart is a thing of beauty
Before COVID hit, it was going out to dinner. My wife and I would usually go out twice a month to somewhere nice. Salads, main course, dessert, bottle of wine + babysitter for 3.5 hours and you're usually in for $300.
Now it's exactly the same except staying home and no baby-sitter. Total price somewhere around $50 (but you have to cook and clean up).

Bourbon. Actually I only spring for Evan Williams black label, but (a) It punches so hard above its weight it feels like I'm really treating myself, and (b) What it lacks in price I've lately been making up for in volume.
Tech gadgets. Picked up two security cams for $50 total earlier in the week, to replace cams that were working but not as responsive as I liked and on a different platform as my other cams. So the old ones go into the storage box filled with several other older but working security cams.
Deals. It's not enough for me to buy something I like; If I get a good deal on it, the satisfaction is that much sweeter. So if I set my mind on buying something, I'll research the heck out of it and get good quality for the best price.

Count me in the 'if it's important to you, it's not a waste camp'. I've never really been a hobby guy, but I enjoy planning/researching a trip almost as much as the trip itself. Love tying in a trip with sporting events and concerts.

When my kid moved out last year to live with his buddies my dining out increased exponentially. Still enjoy cooking but cooking for one doesn’t do it for me. Much rather spend the money on a nice meal out and some drinks.
It's bar tabs and there really isn't anything else. Pretty good at not wasting money, but for some reason my brain tells me it's fine to spend $100 on a night out, where I walk away with nothing except a bad hangover.
$8 for a Can opener? Way overpriced, get the ****** $3 one.

What's funny to me is I get pissed off about Apple's new air pods costing $170, but I'll use them every day for two years before the battery starts to flake out. However, I'll go to some mediocre dinner at Village Anchor or something like that and spend $170 for something I'll be done enjoying in like 2 hours. Hence, a waste.

Definitely cigars. I think nothing of dropping $300 on a box, just can’t smoke bad stogies anymore. My floor is about $175 and that’s my stick for yard work when I’m not sitting and relaxing.
I make my own jerky and every week when I’m picking up meat from butchers market I grab 3-4 filets. It’s worth the few extra $ to get a quality cut.
But they are things I enjoy so not a waste to me.

Interesting you mention a can opener, because THAT is something I am willing to pay a premium for. All the ones I bought for $6 or so over the years that were supposed to be quality that would stop working after 3-6 months. Save the money and frustration, get an OXO can opener for $12-$15. Those things work well, are comfortable to use, and actually last.
But yeah, the $10 beer (I don't do bars much, so I'm thinking sporting event) is something you don't give a second thought about in the moment.

I've switched to digital (Vudu) and I have around 700 digital movies right now.

I use falcon controllers and xlights software. Due to not going on vacation this year used the money for that to upgrade our display with new pixels and floods. A falcon f16v3 controller with extension board and already had a sandevice e682 and a 6804. You can check out the display at big blue lights on facebook.
Get yourself a custom bike...much better ride than anything you will get that is off the shelf.
I'm pretty new to the bike game, but I just ordered the Diamonback Haanjo gravel bike, and it's already got me thinking about my next purchase. My previous bicycle experiences were Wal-Mart specials. Really enjoying it so far.

What's your rig? Any pointers for a beginner? I'm having a blast with the above pictured bike. I "wasted" a lot of money on it, but it gets me outside and going. Put my corgi in one of these and just trail ride.
