Retired Army now working for the Army at FT. Sill Oklahoma in the passenger travel office. Set up transportation for soldiers from Sill to their next duty station and am a passport agent for FT. Sill. On occasion when deployments are heavy, I help the unit movement office deploy units by inspecting air loads, train loads, and ship loads at sea ports.

VP at a civil engineering firm. Mostly business development with some design work depending on the project/client. Good group and enjoy it for the most part besides one current project in Arkansas. Hate that place.

Purchasing Agent. I work for a family-owned wholesale electrical parts distributor with 8 branch locations around Ohio and Indiana. $125 million in annual sales and about 160 employees. I buy electrical parts and components for commercial and industrial use. Motor control, wire management, circuit protection, etc. It's a living! I do enjoy what I do, and I love the folks I work with. They're my second family.

I do this too. Unpaid pastor role at a small local church in a part of the Louisville area dealing with drugs. One of the young men I have spent time with over several years and who has been in and out of jail 3 times has finally cleaned up. He did it on his own this time and has been clean for 5 months or so. He is finally focused on the right things faith, his family, his future so keep your head up and keep fighting. The world needs people like you out there. I told someone the other day that I want to hit death with an empty gas tank. No reason to leave energy out there on the table when there are so many people to serve, so many places to go and see, and so much stuff to learn.

This is the biggest surprise in the thread.

I never made the connection.

Exactly where I got my start 30+ years ago, purchasing agent for a small family owned wholesale company. Left there 25 years ago and have spent the remaining time marketing forecast, replenishment, allocation, promotional, etc. systems to large wholesalers and retailers all over North America. Strange way to make a living but it's worked out pretty well for me.

I'm the Director of Recreational Sports at a college in Maryland. Got into it bc I love sports. First job was the Assistant Director of Club and Intramural Sports at George Washington University. Was almost like being an AD and league commissioner at the same time, which I enjoyed.

Now I have a lot more involvement on campus, but really enjoy that too. Just enjoy working at a place and running programs that college students choose to do in their free time and aren't made to do.

HR Manager for a retailer. I mostly enjoy it. The part I don't like is the store side - running the store as manager on duty and dealing with people's ********. I love the hiring, onboarding, and getting to know my team. But.. ugh the people.

I also get every other weekend off, which is pretty solid in retail. Also have every Tuesday off which is amazing for running errands and such.

No offense taken. Did you have a bad experience with an agile implementation?

Most of my work recently has been more on the "lean" side with SAFe implementations.
Always. It compartmentalizes talented folks. Focuses too much on concepts related to Agile/scrum crap and not the goal

Sounds like a poor implementation of Agile. I have seen where Agile can inadvertently result in sub-optimizatios and silos, especially in larger organizations. That's where the value of incorporating lean principles with agile principles comes into play. Lean incorporates "systems thinking" by focusing on optimizing the full value stream.

I run a tortilla, chips and salsa business.

I like it because I have no one to answer to.(Except my accounts)

Most of my accounts are Kroger's . I do have a SAMs, three Walmarts and a Target.

Looking to do more side business with restaurants. I have two, but would like to add around three or four more.
