I run a tortilla, chips and salsa business.

I like it because I have no one to answer to.(Except my accounts)

Most of my accounts are Kroger's . I do have a SAMs, three Walmarts and a Target.

Looking to do more side business with restaurants. I have two, but would like to add around three or four more.

What's the brand?

I bet I have the strangest job in the paddock. Lol let me explain my job: I am a ferret farmer. Basically i raise ferrets from the moment they hatch until they are weened off of their mothers teet and are ready for distribution. Daily routine is something like this: wake up, check the eggs in the hatchery, make sure they are cold (ferret eggs must be kept at 32 degrees and below, otherwise the soft eggs shell will become so weak that the unborn ferret embryo will just sort of "fall out" of the egg. This gets the hen ((female)) ferrets worked up and they will hiss at you until they eat again). After checking the eggs I feed the ferret pups, change cages, bathe the animals and make sure all the animals are accounted for. This is all before 4:30 AM mind you! It's a very tough job but it's something my father did and his father before me. Lot of work goes into making sure little Timmy and Susie get there pet ferret for the holidays. Most folks don't even think about where there ferrets come from, but if you live in central Kentucky, most likely it came from my little farm! I make $200k plus a year

Retired. Was a formulation & process engineer for detergent products & then designed/developed plastic bottles & caps & corrugated boxes to maximize their support strength in stacking for the filled bottles. Projects lasted three months to three years with multiple ones overlapping. Enjoyed it a lot for 38 years but finally started getting too repetitive the last two & retired after 40. Traveled all over the country visiting designers/suppliers/plants/retail customers.

For a living and do you enjoy doing it?
IT Director for a healthcare company. It's a corporate IT environment so there are certainly things that make me roll my eyes frequently. But, I work with great people and I get to do a lot of problem solving, coaching, and strag-er-izing. I like it...but I don't love it. Pay is good...

I'm the Director of Recreational Sports at a college in Maryland. Got into it bc I love sports. First job was the Assistant Director of Club and Intramural Sports at George Washington University. Was almost like being an AD and league commissioner at the same time, which I enjoyed.

Now I have a lot more involvement on campus, but really enjoy that too. Just enjoy working at a place and running programs that college students choose to do in their free time and aren't made to do.
What was your degree in? There's a graduate program at WKU in Athletic Administration...been thinking about doing it. What you described is what I would be interested in (that or being an AD at a high school).

What was your degree in? There's a graduate program at WKU in Athletic Administration...been thinking about doing it. What you described is what I would be interested in (that or being an AD at a high school).
I got my undergraduate degree in Recreation Management from Bowling Green State University and my masters in Athletic Administration from Ball State University. I can tell you from hiring professionals for the past 18 years, your work experience is going to count for a ton. There are a lot of people out there with graduate degrees in Athletic Administration, so the work experience will set someone apart.

imo business owners who suck in advertising do so b/c they hate marketing and want to do what they are passionate about. I really suck at advertising b/c it's money for attention. I personally hate almost everyone but I love my customers and my love is my advertising. ie. towel drying cars. That's my advertising. SOrry to butt in good luck wiff ya chip sales , try lagrange we have plenty of Mexican restaraunts needing good tortilla chips.

If you hate marketing enough to not mention your small business's name when talking about it/plugging it, then I don't like your long term prospects.

Well, I'm a teacher/coach, so my plan is to use the degree to be an athletic director (although you don't really HAVE to have it everywhere). Thought that if I ever got tired of being in education my backup would be to work for a university doing something similar to what you described. Based on what I've told you, should I have a different backup plan?

Not the expert but the answer is yes. You're not going to get anywhere in his field if it's a backup to you not liking teaching the field is super competitive and you have to put a lot of time and moving around the country to be successful.

Thanks. Been neck-deep in the education world since I was 18, so sometimes it's hard to figure out outlook or what people are looking for in other professions.

Guess I can give up on my dream of being the GM of the Titans and set up shop with these smelly *** 8th graders.

After working in a factory for 25 years, witnessing so much waste, I started my own company recycling industrial waste. Just me, my old 92 Chevrolet pickup and a 16ft trailer beating on doors, now 3 years later, I have a small fleet of trucks and 10 friends helping our ecosystem one truck at a time.
The most gratifying part of my job, I pick up from my old employer making more money in 24, 1 hour visits than I did annually as a press operator.

One architect on here sure thinks highly of himself. About pretty much everything. This country is filled with examples of things built that offer little and inspire even less. Because you design something and it gets built doesn't mean you have creativity. Most in this country, including architects have no taste other than in their mouths.
