Trump says his sausage finger hands are able to hit a golf ball 285 yards. Also says that he's won multiple club championships. After watching this golf swing, I'm gonna have to call ******** on both claims.

Doc, bought the Ping G 3 wood and played it for the first time yesterday. Amazing job Ping do with woods and drivers in the whole g series the past six years or so.

How'd you play? No golf for me.
I will probably jinx myself but this has been the best winter golf of my life. Hitting the ball very solid. Short game is typically bad in the wet dormant Bermuda as always so not scoring as good as i am hitting it. Lipped out an eagle yesterday. Wanted it badly.

first, I haven't seen anybody that's nearly 70 years old hit a ball on level ground with roll, 285. The video wouldn't play but I'm pretty sure he can't hit it much over 230., downwind. He may have won multiple club champs if he's the only one in the hair club for men! Trump isn't one to embellish, is he?[laughing] We've been trying to play golf here but that last storm took down 50 trees and we are looking at 2 more weeks to clean up the mess. Our A1A4 greens are brownish in color and hard to putt.

He could hit it 285 on a runway or tarmac, but not on a golf course. And there's no way he ever won any club championships with a swing like that. That swing makes mine look like Adam Scott

Need some opinions. I am on year 3 with my 3 hybrid which is my first hybrid. When hit on the sweet spot, I love the performance. But if I miss the sweet spot, there is major yardage loss just like a 3 iron. I would think with today's technology it should be more forgiving similar to modern technology in fairway woods and I should look into a different hybrid. What do you think based on your hybrid experience?

Here's the rub. Hybrids are really easy to hook. I have used Taylormade SLDR hybrids and they are good. The problem is they get extra distance from using longer shafts. The 3 and 4 SLDR shafts are pretty much the same length and you can dial the 4 to a three loft and only use it. I just switched to Titliest H1 3 and 4 hybrid, I hit both models of their hybrids and the H1 worked best for me. The Titleist hybrids have a more traditional length shaft. I was always trying to throttle back on the 4 SLDR causing me to hit wayward shots. You need to get to a demo day and try them out. A lot of good hybrids out there. Where do you live?

The only club that is forgiving on mishits is the driver.

Thanks. I live in metro Atlanta. I have a Callaway 5wood, new ping 3wood I just bought and for years used Cleveland 7 wood in place of a 3 iron which is what the hybrid replaced. All three clubs are forgiving with mishits much moreso than the hybrid.

How far in the air, be accurate, do you carry your 5 wood? I carry my 3 hybrid,19*, about 205-210. it's important to know how far you can accurately carry a shot. 7 woods are really good clubs for mid handicap players. Being in Atlanta, demo days should be right around the corner.

I agree on knowing ones yardage and I know mine. I will preface my comments on the subject tat other than my driver, I swing about 80 to 90 percent. I have found I have to in order to get the accuracy. I am a 10 index player (normally) and my 5 wood is 210-225. If I muscle it with a draw, I can reach 235. My hybrid is 192-210. Problem is mishits can lose 30 yards. Even my irons mishits don't lose that much proportionately.

That's pretty good distance. I'd try the Titliest hybrids, both H1 and the other which is the 915 I believe.I have to say, I swing pretty hard but that's the only way a 61 year old can get any distance. I know a really good golfer in Georgia, David Noll, from Dalton. have you heard of him? he's probably won the Ga player of the year 10 times.

No, I haven't. Does he play out of the Farm in Dalton? Down the road a little is a great resort, Barnsley Gardens with the best greens I have ever played.

Thanks for the suggestions

Dalton CC. Go check out the GGA website and look at the POY results for the last 15 years. He's had a fantastic run but cut off his thumb last April. he had it reattached and played in the fall. Tremendous player. Monday qualified for the old Bell Atlantic PGA tournament maybe 10 years ago.
