What does Dawson's contract look like?

The thought of paying someone this inept to leave is disturbing.

He really has no clue. His only answer to questions is, "if it would have worked you wouldn't be questioning it."

No crap Sherlock

Although I'm not pleased with Dawson and have scratched my head a few times. We can't be changing coordinators em every year. Florida tried that under mushchamp and ended up costing him his job. The install year is always tough (look at auburns d, mushchamp is a great d coordinator, they have great talent, but are struggling to stop anyone).

Got to hope next year everyone gets on the same page.

UK does not have an oc so what difference would it make.We now know why Holgerson called all the plays at West Virginia.I bet they (WVU) held a parade when Dawson left

Then you have to wonder why they were paying him there also, don't you? If they were working that closely together you would think Holgerson would know all his faults..

The predictability of our offense is the main problem I have with Dawson.

The lack of attention to detail is also a huge factor in our ineptitude.(dropped passes, Boom trying to break the big one then losing 10+yards, missing or not maintaining blocks, QB making the wrong audible or read)

Growing pains, learning the offense and personnel are are understandable in year one, but continually making the same mistakes is totally unacceptable.

I agree that he will be here another year, but how many years are guaranteed on his contract?

Reminds me of the famous quote from the Vietnam war " we had to destroy the village to save it from the enemy"

I would love to know how much influence Stoops has over the offense. It is his team, but I thought when he was hired he said the O-coordinator will have full ability to run the offense. Coordinator #2 and it's the same stuff. Leads me to think Stoops has his hands in the cookie jar too much.

I sill think the biggest problem with UK's O is meddling from Stoops. We saw/heard it hinted last year with Brown and now appears to be reemerging again. Put Dawson in the press box, let him call the game and leave him alone. Can't hurt because what's happening now isn't working.

Every change has the potential to hurt, as well as to improve the situation. I hope the changes being made are all to benefit the team, and not for money reasons. You do remember that mitch kept Brown as the "Co-DC" after everyone wanted him fired to save his buyout, don't you?

He doesn't have a lot to work with on offense compared to other teams right now. In saying that though, he even said he has more talent here than at WV

It seems that Stoops is dictating a lot of the offense as he is always referring to himself as the one who called the play.Maybe if he let Dawson make all of the offensive decisions outcomes might be different.

After watching Stoops press conference, I don't believe he has influenced the play calling as much as some want to believe. He said that after watching the film, he wished he would have run the ball 4 straight downs on both 1st half possessions. That tells me that Dawson has had full reign of the offense.

I'm very patient with coaches, but I'm done with Dawson. When your whole season hangs on a 4th and 1 call, call a play that'll get you 1 yard 9 out of 10 times. Don't call one that'll get you 40 yards 1 out of 10 times.

His hand and 3/4 of his body unfortunately.

I think a big problem is that we have no identity on offense. Stoops has made it clear that he wants to be balanced--which is nice in theory--but what does he want to do well? I don't think knows. It's hard as heck to be perfectly balanced like Stoops wants to be and win games in the SEC when you're Kentucky and you're playing teams like Georgia and Florida and Tennessee. We're not going to out-Georgia Georgia or out-LSU LSU. We need to focus on one particular area, whether it be a bulk passing offense or a bulk spread option running offense similar to Auburn, etc and build off of that. Instead Stoops seems to have no real idea of what he wants to be. He hires "Air Raid" OC's but continues to try and fit a square peg in a round hole by making them "balanced". The Air Raid offense isn't meant to be balanced. It doesn't work best when it's "balanced". It works best when you're using the short passing game as your de facto running game to set up your real running offense (which is about 30-40% of your offense.

The bottom line is that this offense has no real identity and Stoops seems torn about what he wants that identity to be (and it's showing on the field).

Last year wvu offense averaged 34.46 pts per game. This year they are down to 30.44 ( they also replaced alabama with liberty). Maybe he had something to do with that?

Then he will be in place through 2017. No way Barnhart will pay him to leave.

That was my point with this thread. He is here for another year no matter what. I hope that changing QB's will make this offense look better.

I won't hold my breath.

IMO Stoops is the stupe that screwed up the offense

Fire his *** he sucks!! I could write a book of reasons but they should be obvious to anyone watching our offense. Also I know lots of you guys will disagree but he screwed PT up bad!! Took the wheels off a very good running QB that really needs to run in this offense. When he actually dialed up a running play for Barker in the Vandy game that sealed the deal with me..unbelievable!! Plus Vandy punked our whole defensive staff with the Pop Warner level garbage! F-in joke all the way around!
