For Coach Stoops: It means survive and advance to the next "elimination game" against MSU....which IMO is the toughest of the "winnable" SEC games (with Mizzou also in the future).
CMS and the Cats are winning ugly (really really ugly).....but they're winning. And in the bottom-line business of CFB, winning is really all that matters. I'm not convinced we're decidedly better, but again style points don't count in the W/L column.
I have been as tough on CMS as anyone (more-so on AD), but If CMS gets through MSU and Mizzou....then it is "Hail the conquering hero" time in Lexington. And with a near sure win over Austin Peay.....UK gets to a minor bowl, and he gets another year (more unless the Cats collapse/regress next year).
As "Crash Davis" says...."You gotta take 'em one at at time." Coach Stoops is half way to four SEC wins. If he knows how to leverage a bye week (while MSU travels out and back to a fair BYU team), and the Cats come out sharp--he has every chance to win. If the Big Blue Cats lay an egg and lose at home to a down Mississippi State squad. The torches will be relit.
