Saw on a message board where a Gamecock fan said they hoped that exact scenario played out, my response:
"I used to regularly wave the "SEC Flag" too when we were out of the mix(basically every year) but the hard truth is all that "conference pride" does nothing for us as a program(been proven time and time again in football). If anything it just makes it harder for us to be competitive, if these teams make the kind of run you're hoping for and God forbid one of them wins it, that will be used against us in recruiting, both in the high school ranks and in the transfer portal, these other schools would receive even more money from donors and offer more NIL opportunities. No, these other programs in the SEC achieving the kind of success in this tournament you're hoping for sets us back even further as a program. So personally, I'm still hoping the remaining teams all flop."
