It’s better to have Brea in the floor than Chandler.
Sorry Art GIF

I said this in another thread. Besides the occasional three Brea is absolutely useless. Can’t pass, dribble, play d……
He really is one dimensional. I hoped last game when he got 7 FTs and some decent drives to the rim would be a turning point, but it doesn't look like it. And late in the game 2 turnovers in like three or four possessions, both on careless passes.

Nobody shoots 70% from 3 for an entire season, so he was probably due for some regression regardless, but now that we’re into our conference schedule, his lack of athleticism is also more apparent. He’s not really capable of creating his own shot, and the wide open catch and shoot opportunities are much more scarce against the defenses we’re seeing now.

I thought the turning point of the game was when he took that very long three (almost from half court) and missed. We had the momentum until then and it all shifted to Ark after that miss. I doubt he has the green light to shoot from anywhere on the court like that attempt.

Having Perry taking minutes away killed us. Brea could ultimately shake out of it and contribute. Perry, never.

Brea is a skilled player and he didn’t have the athleticism to hang with Arkansas. Arkansas has some elite athletes. That’s why coaches have destroyed them with a zone defense. You play right into their hands when you let them beat you off the dribble the whole game and get in a rhythm.

Chandler was the only guy who had a shot at staying in front of his guy on defense. That’s why he played so much. Brea was a revolving door.
Considering how bad Chandler has looked almost all season, tonight was honestly a remarkable game for him lol. He looked like one of the only guys we had who athletically was in the same ballpark as Arkansas. Definitely gives me hope for him next season.

I don't like the fact that he'll throw the ball away and not hustle back on defense. He makes gestures like it's his teammates fault.
He often looks like he doesn't want to be out there on the court, and I wanted to say this last night but I'll say it now. I don't think Kobe is a great teammate. Bad body language, doesn't work hard to get himself open, doesn't do the little things to create opportunities for the other guys.

He reminds me of Devin Booker’s year here where he couldn’t miss the first half of the year and couldn’t make a shot the second half. What gives?
Teams are guarding the three point line, and this team need to adjust to it, push the ball into the paint then kick it back out, the only point we get in the paint are from driving especially when Carr was out.

I disagree, Brea is literally the laziest player I’ve ever seen play. The only thing he does is shoot 3’s. He has terrible shot selection, doesn’t move without the ball, He’s a terrible passer, he cannot dribble. He’s an absolute liability on defense. Doesn’t even try on D. Chandler is not a great offensive player yet. At least he gives effort and gives you some semblance of defense. I’d rather give Brea’s shots to Ainsley.

A 22' step back 3, or a 26' off balance 3 is a turnovers 90% of the time. He has to understand that yes, there is a thing as a bad shot. He takes a ton of them.

He wasn’t a starter for Dayton, was the 6th man along with Robinson. We asking guys who weren’t starters for their teams last season to be starters and stars. Brea is a 3 point specialist only.
