Is that this whole Fenwick/PN debate has brought out the worst in a lot of people.
Folks throwing their credentials as experts out, private school advantages, good convoluted analogies to try to prove a personal subjective mind set etc etc.
All lose sight of the basic notion of what this is all about.....the kids from all three teams.
None of them has done a damn thing wrong except play their hearts out for their respective schools.
IF the refs and then the IHSA had done their jobs properly this would be a non-issue and we all know it.
Fenwick should be playing ESL on Saturday.
Cut and dried plain and simple---they won the game in regulation BY THE RULES.
If the gutless wonders at the IHSA had simply done the right thing and applied their own rules the whole thing would be moot.
Yes PN would be upset but it would be a lot less of a cluster f than what's going on now.
All I know is that all this has ruined the game for everyone,
ESL has no idea who or even if they're playing. PN is more consumed with defending their "win" than focusing on the potential title game. Fenwick is up in arms (justifiably so) about being cheated out of their first ever title appearance.
