UNC is so beatable. What a missed opportunity.

We played frantic defense but we don't have a go-to shot maker when it's needed. UNC does. Both teams shot like crap but they have that one guy.

We're not going to win a title with role players. Even if Lowe makes it back we're looking at a low seed or NIT.

It was a miracle we even had a chance to win. We went over 10 minutes of game time without making a shot.

In 2 years with top 3 resources, Pope hasn't brought in a single highly rated recruit or transfer that is a game changer. He hasn't shown that he can create a roster that can defend, and last year barely demonstrated that he can run an offense better than Cal. What is he here for?

What I saw was a team without a PG that practiced all summer with one . This team needs Lowe and with Lowe they will make shots. Anyone who can’t see this is beyond me. 3 starters out of the line up tonight, if that’s what you call an excuse so be it.

Your statement is true, but what’s concerning is I saw a coach make no adjustments on offense. He doesn’t understand the strength and weaknesses of his team to develop an offense that will work. It’s basic playground ball one on one taking contested shots. That doesn’t work at any level.

And the one freshman guard that he has brought in rarely sees the court. I think Jasper played 20 to 30 seconds on two occasions in the second half. I’m not saying that that dude is the answer to any of this team’s problems but maybe he could’ve got us a bucket during that 10 minute drought?

And I guarantee the dude transfers after this season.

He didn’t help at all. Selfish play on display tonight. Drive left and throw it up. Disappointing. Be better.

It wasn’t a miracle. It’s called North Carolina is just that bad. We just lost to an awful team, at home. And bout to get demolished in Nashville. Easy money betting against this sorry *** team every night.
Yeah an awful team that beat Kentucky and Kansas?

For sure. Looks like Vegas didn't know **** with that line they came out with. Biggest winners were UNC bettors, and you know tons of people jumped on that +8.5 line early.

Edited to say + (the - is from UK's perspective)

Chandler isn’t nearly as good as he thinks he is. Wouldn’t start on BYU.
A mid-major 2G off a two year mission trip just over a year ago, is the best player on a $22 million roster at UK, has to be a future Sports Trivia question/ answer 🤣😂🤣

why would you say that???????
JQ was injured, so building a team around him is absolutely STUPID.
The Lowe injury was unexpected, but not having a quality back up is unforgiveable.

Why dont we post up Jelavic? He is good down there.
I have wondered this for years....even when Cal was here......
why not get the ball inside? too much reliance on 3 point shooting when there is none

A big miss that isn't mentioned much is the Mullins kid that went to UConn. I understand Pope was basically forced to take Jasper over him, but there is no comparison. Mullins is a MUCH better basketball player and shooter

There are like 50 misses. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt because last year was pretty good for how quickly it was put together and the Butler injury. Paying this level of player the amount he did is inexcusable.

This was the worst I have ever seen Aberdeen play. He’s not known as a shooter and kept jacking them up and wasn’t even close on 3 pointers and an air ball or two. For a staff that keeps all kind of analytics it sure doesn’t seem like they are presented to the players.

They don’t rebound well because nobody blocks out. Crazy to see that at this level.
Anyone remember Pope's stupid coaching, with "tap the rebound" or some BS? Instead of comign down with two hands. He wants players to tap the ball to a teammate.

Well we also don't run an offense, so that doesn't help. I hope a reporter asks pope why we aren't running his trademark zoom o.

Also rebounding. Ugh.
Let’s be honest…any team missing 3 of its top players is going to struggle.

Pope can’t run his offense w/ this team w/o Lowe. The poor offensive movement is leading to poor transition defense & poor rebounding. Trust me…when Lowe is healthy he is very good (UofL played him @ Pitt)…if he didn't play in the UofL game…the results would have been much…much worse.

I had Lowe’s exact shoulder injury in high school and it is difficult to play w/ mentally…because you play trying to protect that shoulder from contact. Even after it fully healed physically…it took me awhile mentally to accept contact on that shoulder.

I posted after Gtown loss that this was a huge issue. No back up point guard. Lot of folks here yelled at me - saying we had CC, DA, and JJ to back it up. No way. None of those guys are capable.

We win the game last night with just the addition of JQ alone. No way they get so many offensive rebounds and second chance points with him in the game. Having said that, I think Lowe is the key for this to be a successful season with a good tourney run. I hope his shoulder will be able to tolerate the rigors of the game.

1) mo isnt a top 3 player. He shouldn't even start.

2) we're allowed 15 players. We spent 22 million. If we only have one viable pg that is on pope.

3) zoom offense is triggered by the bigs, so losing one above average pg shouldn't completely decimate us. Yet....we mysteriously arent running that offense. Were running basically dribble drive with a high ball screen/rim run. This makes no sense at all.
