At one point there was talk of a remake of The Wild Bunch.....starring Will Smith.....God what an abomination that would be.

I forgot about Akira. The film's fun and it still looks great but it butchers the story (the manga's 2000+ pages and it wasn't even finished when the movie was made). A 26-episode television series could cover all the major bases and then some.

McFarlane's been trying to get a remake off the ground for the past few years with no luck.

But only if the Coen brothers do it and Cormac McCarthy writes the screenplay.

I was looking back at some movies that were made in the 80's (my favorite decade) and one seems perfect for a reboot right now. That would be They Live. With the way the politicians, msm, and social media are trying to control everything, it seems like a perfect time period to reboot it. Here's a quick example I made just using the current President but it can apply to most politicians so don't start a political fight here.

Instead of sunglasses they could use cell phones with a special app that allows you to see the aliens and all of the subliminal messages with your camera and anything you are viewing on your screen. They just have to include the fight scene like the one between Roddy Piper and Keith David. Greatest fight scene ever.

Good one. "I'm here to kick *** and chew bubble gum."

That would be an abomination.

What I would like to know is what happened to the long anticipated filming of Cormac McCarthy's "Blood Meridian" as that's one of the best books I've ever read but it is so violent that it makes TWB look like a Saturday morning cartoon.

Hope they don't screw this up.

But some movies just should not be remade. Especially ones shot on the scale such as Lawrence of Arabia.

I liked the Kyle MacLachlan Dune. Seems like that was one of those movies not initially very well received (Roger Ebert panned it) but was eventually appreciated a little more.
