Michigan State shielded a pedophile who victimized their own athletes. Michigan shielded a pedophile who victimized their own athletes. PSU didn't shield anyone - the local DA investigated, the pedo's non-profit organization was notified of his behavior and the state's child welfare services attempted to investigate. Yet, Penn State is the pedo capital of the planet according to our own BOT. If it happened today, Paterno would be dead and the headlines wouldn't happen.
So easily forgotten with time is the gigantic role TSM played in all of this, yet was never acknowledged as a key player by the media.
TSM CEO Dr. Jack Raykovitz, a mandated reporter, testified in the Spanier trial that he was a proper reporting authority (Central Mtn. School went to him with its concerns), yet the fact that Curley went to Dr. Jack and informed him of what was reported, and Dr. Jack said to him 'if you think JS is a pedophile, you're crazy, tell him to wear swim trunks', was overlooked and the fallacy of non-reporting/covering up went ahead in the eyes of anyone not paying attention.
TSM had shredder trucks on site within hours of the reports - who knew what was in their files that would cause such a house-on-fire reaction? Well, Dr. Jack, his wife and CEO Executive Kitty Genovese (interesting last name), and possibly the numerous PSU BOT members, including billionaire Lubert, who also served on the TSM Board. Should probably mention the former Governor here as well, who knew what was being investigated but approved a huge grant of land to TSM anyway. Maybe he thought there would ultimately be nothing to the investigation? They certainly struggled to find anyone willing to testify to the worst of it until paydays were promised by our BOT 'leaders'. They even had to greatly embellish McQ's testimony to grab the needed attention. No one at TSM heard anything worth investigating about JS in all the years leading up to this? Maybe, maybe not; we don't know. If so, then we know that any coverup at all was on the hands of TSM, not PSU.
Personal vendettas by a couple key BOT members, worrying more about themselves than the reputation and welfare of PSU and the best goodwill asset any college athletic program ever had, became the #1 case study of the worst crisis response in recent history. And good men, with not a shred of ill intention, not the ones with glaring character flaws, paid the price on that side of the saga.
And ClownFreehForHire had to admit under oath that his assertion about any coverup or knowledge on the part of JVP was simply his opinion. They had no facts to back that up.
