I think we all will be ecstatic to get 6 wins at this point but....
we have a head coach who never thought in 7 months to change the signs when his ex assistant was the first opponent of the season. Sorry guys.......... our coach isnt smart enough to win 6 games
If we win 6? Certain posters won't continue to post. You know, posters who just started posting after the USM game. Guys who only bash the program,. As well as several others I don't need to mention. You know who you beastly, prime time players are.
I'm not trying to be negative, but did some of you watch our first two games? Beating New Mexico State, alone is not a sure thing. If no major changes are made, I can't see more than two wins, and frankly I don't know who the 2nd win will come against, if at all. With out major changes on defense and offensive lines, and our Coach getting a designer drug that greatly enhances cognitive ability, we are not winning 6 games. That's a pipedream at this point. I'll gladly apologize, and eat some humble pie with a smile on my face, if they do the unthinkable by winning six. I just can't see it.

That's bull crap thinking, if this group wins 6 games it will be a bigger miracle then us beating the Russians in hockey for the gold medal.
So sad. Year four and people are happy with six wins. Speaks volumes. This is the year a good coach gets his team rolling. The SEC is down this year, the stars have aligned, and UK is worse than ever.

6 is still possible. I must admit for the first time I was pretty down on this staff after S.Miss. UF was kind of what I expected but it was also akin to stepping on my throat when I was already unconscious. But Ive rebounded and Im the eternal optimist. I cant see them doing it unless the issues up front are addressed but I hold out hope.
We need to beat NM St and take it one game at a time. The margin for error is now 0. If were really honest with ourselves were only one game off of where any reasonable fan expected to be. Vandy, Peay, Mizzou, NM St, USCjr and Miss St are all must wins. Win these and were bowling. Lose one and we need to steal one from Bama, Gawga, Louisville or UT.
Lets assume the team has a lightbulb moment this week and things roll our way the rest of the year. Even best case perfect scenario you gotta figure we lose one out of the 6 "beatable" teams. Lets also assume the obvious and say Bama is off the menu. Cant see us winning that one under any circumstance short of a Bama forfeit. That leaves us needing a win from either Georgia at our house or from @Ut or @UL. Id say we need to get Georgia at home because UT and UL have QBs whose style gives us fits. If we dont beat Bama I fear we head into Louisville once again needing a win to make a bowl. Should we lose to them for the 6th straight time and 3rd time in a row where it keeps us out of bowl the offseason will be a very uncomfortable one for Stoops. I hope it doesnt come to that.
The S Miss game hurt, there is no doubt about that. Its too bad we didnt get to play UAB like we were originally scheduled. S Miss is no different than Louisville was at the end of their CUSA days. They are trying harder than anybody in their league and they put a good product on the field at times. We caught them on a high note for them which is every bit equal to us on a regular note. UAB outside of a year or two has been pretty much an afterthought since moving up to D1. It is what it is though, spilled milk and all. The mission is clear, we just gotta hope this bunch turns a corner somewhere.

So you think our 6 wins should come against the strong half of the schedule? Either you expect us to go undefeated of you think we should beat the good teams and lose to the bad ones. You are not doing yourself any favors here sport.

My preseason guess was 6 wins with 7 doable. I printed that CATS offense would score many points, that the o.line would be much improved unit, would run much from 2 tight end sets, sideline coaching would be up grade. It's apparent, I'm wrong.

We needed Southern Miss to do that. We are not going to get there is a decently safe guess. If we don't, then it's time to eliminate Stoops but can't afford to do so

I have rethought my original post. And I think everyone on here is just wrong.
If we get to 6 wins and beat only the "bad" teams, we should let the NCAA know we will not be going to a bowl. We will let them know the wins were bad.
So if we only beat 1 good team, we will only accept: bowl prior to Dec 25.
If we beat 2 good teams, we will only accept: bowl games between Dec 25 and Dec 30.
If we beat 3 good teams, we will only accept: bowl games on Dec 31.
Anything more, and we will only accept a playoff game.
Those are now and forever.

If I see six wins in which we see a semblance of improvement and aggressiveness, then maybe onward and upward. If we somehow eke out 6 by simply sucking less, then I will have doubts.

6 wins after the mess we have seen thus far is a tremendous turnaround.

2017 was the year to take the big step for me anyway.
I doubt very seriously we see 6 this year and if not, then CMS should be let go and hire someone who can do something with the next year's talent and stop the recruiting bleed we are about to witness.
Six wins going 4-4 in the SEC is progress, no matter how much you would want to minimize it. How long has it been since UK won 4 games in the SEC?

But the idea that we have people preemptively complaining about a hypothetical 6-4 finish down the stretch boggles the mind.
