I have always been a droid man. I want to make it easy for Google to spy on me. I got nothing to hide.
It’s pretty much a either or for everybody. I just don’t like the layout or whatever for androids. I guess I’m just so used to iPhones.

You can always switch and have apple spy on you instead?

that’s gotta be pretty much the same damn thing as the 13, gotta be.
Pretty much. Might be a different processor or something. Everything since the X series has been fairly similar. Loved my XR but the kid broke his SE so Pops got a new one.

I like the Face ID or whatever it’s called. I also don’t miss the button that was at the bottom. The camera is better but I don’t really take pictures. What’s your storage?

Is that the one that flips out and makes a huge screen?

at least for what an average Joe is using it for.
I got the smaller one flips out. It's slightly longer than iPhone. Everyone loved it when they see it folded on half plus it fits in my pocket much easier.

Switched from apple 5 years ago as I'm sick of their hype when droids are just as good/better. Have Samsung Flip and its awesome.
I left Android in 2019 and never going back unless all I can afford is one of those cheap POS Androids that only cost like $200. But with iPhone having a much higher used sale value, it's not hard at all to afford the iPhone once you make the initial investment.

I've been amazed from day one of having an iPhone how much better the battery life is. I had several flagship Androids and even brand new their battery life wasn't as good as my iPhone 11 after two years.

Recently was using an iPhone from a coworker to navigate to a site. It was off about 10 mi. The Android took us to within 1 meter. Enjoy your iPhone.

11 for me. Had it about two years. Still works well.

I switched to Android in 2017. Switched back to Apple in 2017. Had the droid for about 40 days. Hated it. Felt clunky. iPhones are much easier to use. Droid has a nice camera tho.

It will take you within .1 meters on my iPhone
I've compared both in the field doing navigation. I have to find things that are far out in the wilderness. I doubt you've ever used your phone to that extent. The iPhone at times is inaccurate on navigation. 5 to 10 m is more like it with the Android but once in a while they do get lucky.

What order benchmark where you using when you measured the 0.1 m? I'm sure you're an expert in national geodetic surveying. After all there's one over at your mama's house.

Wait are we having an actual serious conversation? Why the hell would I use my cellphone for serious work things like surveying and not use a professional grade GPS that my work would provide me? The benchmark I’m using though is DEEZ NUTS lmao

I'll make sure I stay away from that coordinate.

Anyone who uses an Android definitely knows how long 0.1 meters is.
True.

We often judge our employees by whether they're iPhone users or Droid users. iPhone users typically have management written all over them. It's not foolproof.

As is clear in this thread, idiots own both kinds.

And I just realized I have a pilot coworker who navigates with an iPhone and he hasn't landed at the wrong airport yet. He has other sources of navigation.

iOS 11 is 5 years old and was retired 4 years ago.

What app were you using?

Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze etc. have never guided me wrong, except when I entered the wrong address one time. Of course that was my fault.
My coworkers phone that was issued by who we work for. I believe Apple maps. We were entering coordinates. We deal with coordinates not with addresses. And yes it's easy to enter the wrong coordinate but we didn't because we checked it. When we switch to the Droid we did not have the same problem. That may have been a one-time thing. Except that it happened again in a few days.

I guess it boils down to what you like. I can't live in the world without a back button.

I use GPS status app.

Is iPhone as bad with voice recognition as Droid? Droid and my accent is a bad mix.

We judge our people who have iPhones as followers. Fairly easy to control and you can simply make them lose concentration by flashing a shiny object.

-my wife and daughters have iPhone. Recent models...think the wife's is the 13. The batteries have always sucked, still do when compared to my current galaxy s21 or 22 (idk as for me: phones are tools not luxury items). Samsung last longer than apple for what that's worth.

-ultimately it comes down to which os you prefer. Imo spending money on the latest and greatest phone is silly.

-left my prior samsung phone in Florida last year at an airport. Was gonna take a week or so for delta to get back to me so I bought a $150 Motorola G play to use for that week...ended up using it for nearly a year until I destroyed the screen (never bought a case)...would've gotten another but I had a "free" upgrade, whatevs.
