What is John Wall apologizing for on Twitter?

People love to ***** and moan about cancel culture but go silent when something they don’t agree with even tangentially is the target of said culture.

Unless you can provide concrete evidence he is involved with actual gang activity who gives a ****. Was it smart for him to let that get out? No, but at the end of the day who cares. The dude has done more good in his life than bad that’s for sure.

Serena Williams did a dance after she won the US open a few years back, there was hysteria from a select few alleging it was a crypts dance. Seems like similar scenario here. Some people just want to make something out of nothing. Everything has to have a "secret" meaning now. It can't just be 2 dudes hanging out doing random stuff.

Or more likely he grew up in a neighborhood with bloods and the gang signs are to his people. That’s probably pretty close

We shall see. I fear it only gets worse before better.
I pray it don't, but see nothing that makes me feel better at this time, but I just believe that the USA is the greatest nation in the world, and I truly believe we will pull through this. :) ;)

It's actually quite an imperialist mindset to suggest that the US government should only allow one single justice system within its borders. Gangs operate legitimately within their own jurisdictions, and while they dole out capital punishment at an unusually high rate, it's not our place to suggest that it is unwarranted.

I mean, their tax rates can be a little high but much like our lovely government it’s all for the protection of their constituency.

Yea, the gangs on the rough streets of NC are the worst!
Played ball in college with a dude from the Winston-Salem/Greensboro area. Said when you’re in middle school you pretty much have to pick some sort of affiliation. If not, you get beat up on by all the gangs. He had some crazy stories.
Last time I was in the Durham area years ago I went to a club with some friends that had just opened back up. Found out while we were there it had been shut down because of a gang related murder outside of it. So yeah, there’s gangs there. lol

I could believe he was throwing up gang signs in fun if it were something like Westside or something non-descript. And I’m certainly not a gangster, but I don’t think you just casually throw up a crip killa sign unless you’re affiliated in some way. Having said that, there could be some other signing I’m not aware of and that’s not a C and a K he’s throwing. Sure looks like that to me... and now I see videos with red bandanas...

That doesn’t mean he’s in a gang btw... does mean he knows them.

It is what it is.

No, he is a thug and I don’t accept it by saying “it is what it is”.
a “thug” LOL wow man. John Wall treats kentucky like he lived here all his life he loves BBN and you call him a “thug” because of his hand gestures? JW didn’t have a choice where he grew up and where his mom moved to, him throwing up those signs is him honoring his neighborhood.

Lol, wow! Seems odd they would have much gang activity and still be well below the national and NC avg for violent crime. It's almost as if what you're saying isn't true...

The part I found funny is he just apologized for doing something he's done (and is well known for) since college.

One day I hope people will realize that following someone's daily life on twitter is a waste of time and is destructive to our culture. It won't happen as twitter has embedded itself into the daily life of many and some people would rather communicate that way. It will be a generational thing unless something more intrusive replaces it.

from my side of the internet its "oh someone said something about John Wall doing something on twitter? and we are talking about this why?" Its not a slam on the OP or the people commenting, just offering a perspective that offers insulation from having a new "cause" every 10 minutes.

I personally believe its a much better approach to the worldview. I'm a dinosaur though.

my Facebook is deactivated.::if I didn’t have to use twitter for work, I’d get rid of that. Hell, I really don’t watch kentucky sports anymore...only come here to interact with some folks.

When you’re a blood you’re a blood all the way.
From your first jumping in ‘til you buy your AK.
When you’re a blood you must throw up your set,
So then ev’ryone knows just what side that you rep.

the other side of that is, by not interacting on twitter, you don't have to apologize on twitter. Of course you can't stop the backlash of cancel culture, but not caring enough to actually address it is a good way to minimize its impact on you.

Blood or Crip we all know he bleeds blue at heart. And he’s my main dude whether he’s throwing up b’s or whatever else he throws up. I’ve seen him do it several times. It didn’t change the fact that he’s my favorite player of all time.

Who cares?

Was it illegal?
Did it hurt anyone?
Is JW your child?

If the answer is no to all 3 questions then it's none of your, or my, business.
