Right now I have the sound "Crystals" on the iPhone. Good combo of not being unnerving but still having wake up power. Other times I'll set it to a positive song from my iPod.

We pretty much have to use the standard ear-bleeding alarm clock sound or we won't wake up. Wife tried to let her Fitbit buzz her awake, but after two successful tries, she let us sleep in two hours late for something ....

As a retired school employee, it's the sound of the school bus driving down my street. Reminds me of what i don't have to do every day.

My radio comes on fairly quietly to wake me up (instantly). Doubt you can even hear it across the room. I can count on 1 hand the number of times that didn't work.
My wife on the other hands needs the really load and annoying pulsing sound.

Don't use an alarm. On the rare instances I do - Slipknot's "People=****" does the trick.

I got a FitBit a few months ago and use the vibrating alarm on that. It is silent but vibrates on my wrist for about 15 seconds and if you don't get up it starts again 9 minutes later. I ditched the alarm clock and phone.

Do yourself a favor and savor the extra 45 minutes of sleep per night.
