I actually bought brand new this year. A Honda Fit. Brand new it was cheaper than all the used cars I was looking at. Only reason why I bought brand new. Would have gotten a used Fit but there were no used ones anywhere in town.My family owns a large used car lot and I love it when someone mentions a lease. lol.

New coil. New Ignition.
Clean the battery terminals.
you need to confirm that there is fuel being pumped to the injectors.
could be either a bad fuel pump or clogged fuel filter.
a fuel filter can be clogged with water too, not just debris.
a cam sensor will either work or not; no in between.
if the timing belt failed the engine would turn-over faster during starting, than it would during normal operation.
lastly, it is possible that the catalytic converter is stopped-up and choking the engine. remember, a combustion engine is really just a complex air compressor.
