Was on a ****** Jr. Pro team and we had no pitching. Begged the coach all year to let me pitch. Middle of the season he gives me a shot. I walk 4 straight batters, that was my last pitching performance. He looked at me like "do not ever ask to pitch again."

I will add a couple:

Was playing rec basketball when I was fairly young, but old enough to know better, and our team was losing in the title game. I gathered the ball to inbound it and our coach started yelling some sort of instruction at me. I didn't understand it. I kept hearing, "RUN IT!" I looked at him confused and threw my hands up and he yelled it again, "RUN IT!" So, I did. Took two steps inbounds and, naturally, a violation was called and we turned the ball over. Come to find out that he was not saying run it, but was in fact yelling, "ROLL IT." So dumb.

When I was about 8 or 9 and my dad was going to coach my little league baseball team, and as a coach you could protect two players and get them automatically on your team. Typically this was designed for the coach and assistant to ensure that their kids were on the team. My dad was not that kind of coach. Instead, he decided to protect another kid that was extremely good and to try to roll the dice and draft me. So, to make his masterful plan happen he told me not to do too well in tryouts. Well, I came through for him. I was terrible. Couldn't catch. Couldn't throw. I tripped over myself. People were laughing and were genuinely embarrassed for me. When done my dad said, "Damn Cory, you didn't have to be that bad!" Sadly, I wasn't trying to be. I was genuinely trying to do decent, but it was just one of those days where I couldn't do anything right. He ended up being able to draft me really late. We won the league and I ended up as an all star, but that was a really bad day.

Late in college my cousin asked me to fill in for his softball team because they needed a player. So, I came in to play and they put me in left. I'd never played on this field and wasn't too familiar with it. So, early in the game this guy hits a towering fly and I turn and haul tail to try to run it down. As I approach the fence, the guy in center is yelling, "You got room! You got room!" Suddenly... SMACK. I full speed hit that chain link fence, and bounced off it like a Shaq missed free throw. While laying there I yelled over to the centerfielder, "Hey CF, what happened to all that room?" Between laughs he yells back, "It ran out!"

While tracking a pop up on the third base side of the field, I tripped over third base and fell flat on my face. To make matters worse, the baseball then hit me in the back of the head.
