What made you buy into Pope?

There were multiple games last season that the team got down big and was able to come back and win, I’m seeing the same pattern this season but without the three point shooters. There were too many red flags last season for me to feel confident about Pope as the coach.
I love Mark Pope as a former player but not as a coach of my favorite team.

I guess what won me over was how our former players rallyied around him plus he killed it at the press conference.
Last season was at least entertaining.
I think he made some bad personnel decisions that's led to the product we see on the court now.
My biggest negative with Pope is that he's just not a killer, not Machiavellian enough to crush it at UK.
I think recruits and parents like Pope as a person but don't walk away saying that's the guy I have to play for.
I think he will continue to be on a lot of top recruits short list but will struggle sealing the deal.

I'm clearly and Oats guy but I'm hopeful pope can start recruiting better. Jimmys and Joes need to be better along with coaching. Passing has been mostly awful and playing the wrong lineups don't help.
You gotta believe there is a lot of luck in winning a national title.
I just hope to the heavens, that Coach Pope will maintain a good record as coach. Meaning above .500.

The one thing I think affects his coaching though, and I write this with a grain of truth to it, he's already won a title as a player....
If you believe in Yin and Yang, this means we may not ever see a title while he is coach. (Because he's already reached that goal as a player)
More superstitious thinking than anything though. Prove me wrong though. I hope Coach Pope gets back to sweet 16 this year. Its been rocky from the start this season except for beating Purdue.
