Allar is big and has a very strong arm. Let's see how he does against better teams who will come with more pressure and will play tighter coverage on our WRs.

Allar is very cerebral. That’s a big addition to being a big kid with a strong arm. That’s what makes him look special at this early stage.
Curious. What in his two starts has led you to believe Allar is “cerebral.”

He may be? But kind of hard to draw that conclusion against 1 very bad opponent and an FCS program?

His ability to go through many, many progressions quickly. It’s impressive for a true sophomore, even against iffy opponents.

I guess we’ll see. Way to early to draw any conclusions based upon competition IMO.

Does look promising though…and he can make all the throws. Begs the question on why we need progressions against the bottom dwellers of Big12 and Delaware.

You need progressions against every team. Even the Delawares make good plays on defense.

I hate when an inferior opponent competes. Why can’t they just lie down?
You mean like in 1916 when Cumberland lost to Georgia Tech 220 to 0? Even then some people were pissed, because the spread was GT -223.

Let's give it a few more games before we say he is special. Like maybe games against OSU and UM.

He’s a true sophomore. It’s ok to recognize how good he looks two starts in. Nobody’s saying he’s Tom Brady, just that he has a special look about him at a young age.

You expect the first read to be open 100% of the time against lesser competition?

Didn't look so special against Illinois on Saturday.

His QB ranking for Saturday wasn’t that bad. He made some bad throws, had some dropped and missed a few receivers breaking open, but he didn’t have turnovers and managed to game at the LOS very well. Klatt went to great lengths to show where Allar needs to develop and that was proved to be the case on Saturday. Not unexpected.

He was just fine given his age and it being his first road game. The drops weren’t his fault nor were some of the slow developing routes agains heavy blitzing fronts. The coaching staff didn’t do him many favors on Saturday, but everyone will improve from this.

Go back and watch film of Kerry Collins as a true sophomore. I’m sure you’ll find similar issues.

Yeah, listening to Joel was like watching a balloon with a slow leak. JK had hyped for hope on our Allarmerican and when a few passes went sailing over our WRs heads, the silence was deafening. Also due to the respect we all have for Clifford, JK did not comment on what we all know is true, stemming from JCFs comments from camp, our #15 doesn't turn over the ball like 9 and 14 did. fewer INTs, fewer fumbles, fewer short hoppers makes for a recipe we haven't seen since Collins '94
