you miss playing as an adult? For me it's baseball. I played basketball, soccer and football as well, but just didn't have the same love for either of those three sports that I had for baseball. And to be honest, my 'best' sport was soccer.....

Football is easily #1 for me. I played basketball and baseball, too, but miss the thrill of returning punts and blasting vulnerable receivers over the middle more than anything...oops, you can't do that these days.

Football , baseball, basketball. Loved basketball more than the other 2 sports but enjoyed them. They were trying to get a golf team started when I was a senior in high school. So that is how I got interested in golf. But basketball was and is still my favorite. I still play recreational basketball on Monday's.

Baseball. Then football. Followed by basketball. Once baseball had passed me by started to play the most boring game ever Slow Pitch softball. That's just an excuse for drinks at the bar.

Basketball was my best sport but I really don't miss playing at all. Seeing my son play summer baseball right now and it definitely makes me miss those days, 9-12 years old and just playing for fun.

I had 2 left feet and stumbled over a dandelion in my youth. But I started playing golf at the age of 10, when I began caddying for 10 years at Fairmont (WV) Field Club for the rich people in Fairmont. Got a dime tip for 18 holes of lugging heavy golf bags around, too. That and my coal miner father paid for my WVU School of Journalism education. Still playing golf today, at 88, usually oldest player in both seniors leagues. Love the game regardless of my score. Rare sport where size and bulk don't give an automatic advantage like basketball and football and, to a lesser degree, baseball, which these days is too boring. It's like picking lint from your belly while watching paint dry.

I played baseball until high school, and just in the summers...no fall ball or anything year round back then.

I played basketball through high school at a good program and some afterwards, but I was ready to be done with it by the time I was a high school sophomore. Just too much, all the time, no breaks, ect. My HS coach was pretty intense and life with no basketball was fine with me.

Baseball always stayed fun because it felt simple, just 2 months in summer with friends....good memories.

In football I enjoyed playing in the actual games but hated practicing. I was a receiver and a safety, and we rarely threw the ball, so getting killed in practice to maybe touch the ball once per game didn't thrill me.

I always regretted not playing volleyball. It wasnt real popular, and the guys on the team struck me as "tall but not athletic enough for basketball", but I think I could have been really good.

I played basketball for 9 years, football for 11 years. While I was a decent basketball player, I didnt play my Jun & Sen yr to concentrate on lifting & training for Football & Cross Country. It was incredibly difficult for me to gain weight, even eating nothing but beef, tuna, & chicken, with Protein & Calorie shakes and lifting heavy 4 days a week, and 1 day for cardio focused routines. My gift was speed. That carried over into cross country too. In the famous words of Gump.... "I could run like the wind"... Whats funny about that? I was born pigeon toed, so I wore similar leg braces as a small child that Forest wore in the movie. My dad always swore he thought those braces was a factor, then when the movie came out, we all laughed about it and my dad was like see I told ya... lol..

Getting old, I miss playing sports, but I miss the endurance & general athleticism I had as a kid. Working 12 hours a day as a Quant isnt exactly good for exercise. Lord If I tried to run a 40 yard sprint now, multiple body parts would fall off. Not good for a zombie apocalypse. I def need to get back in the gym...

I still recall the last time I took off my shoulder pads, I knew I would never play again, as I didnt want to go directly to college, I wanted to ensure my college was paid for by joining the Air Force & the structure was something I knew I needed too. (Always had a bit of a wild streak in me)... I cried like a baby. I cried as if I had lost my best friend. I dont think I ever really understood how much I loved the game, until I realized I would never play again.

Some people hated HS, but I had a great time in HS. I had a few different groups of close friends, a badass Jeep, a part time job at the grocery store, a lead guitar player in a cool band, in a small but thriving WV town. This was before the opiate crisis and back when people actually had good jobs...

I wouldnt have changed a thing, mistakes included. That said, Im not one who really lives in the glory days either, every day we have an opportunity to make now better then yesterday. So, while I may not enjoy the same things as I did in my youth, I very much find joy in seeing my kids enjoy them.

Here we go into the wild blue yonder!

Played football, basketball, and baseball from age 5-18. Really miss playing high school basketball, high school baseball, and travel baseball in my middle school years in the summer.

If I could do it all over again, I definitely would.

Growing up during World War II, my friends and I played a lot "Go get the Nips and Nazis." (With cap buster pistols). We stopped when a woman came out of her backdoor and screamed at us to quit shooting our guns. Our mothers told us the woman was a young German who had married a U.S. soldier right after WWII.

My sister in law was born club footed and was in casts and braces after she was born. She also excelled in track but has since blown out her Achilles and had a low ankle fracture.

As a kid, I had a bow and arrow set up. At age 67 I took up archery seriously, took lessons for a year, shot in the National outdoor tournament and did not come in last. Shot with several men older than me and they are/were deadly. I still shoot almost every day and hope to shoot in the senior national games later this summer. I can often hit an 8 inch plate at 60 meters as well as occasionally miss the whole target. A six end game of 6 arrows each is 36 shots and 720 yards walked so I get a little exercise. Don't live too much in the past.

Never could come close getting competent with bow and arrow. Respect that. Got back into firearms a dozen years ago and reignited a love for handgun drills and competition. Wish I would have invested earlier. My wife started at ground zero and is now excellent...let's me win now and then.

I have no problem finding ammunition! I have shot the same 2 dozen arrows 1 doz indoor 1 doz outdoor for going on 3 years! Doesn't hurt my ears or scare the dog. I have some pistols, rifles but they are for pests and varmints. Never enjoyed it like the bow. Freaking hard to be consistent but rewarding.

Baseball is fun 13-18
You are in a gang fight pretty much but you aren’t throwing punches you are throwing pitches. Same with swinging the bat instead of swinging kicks

About 2-3 hours of **** talking but no really gets hurt except their feelings.

That ball hurts though when someone slaps the glove with the ball into your ribs

Ammo has gotten expensive although prices are dropping some now. Do about 500 rounds of various calibers per pracrice session weekly so the sport has been pricey. Private club. Private range. Out in the swamp and it is fun just to go there. A lot of gators lurking about lol. I put bow away after I took a couple layers of skin off my left forearm when I forgot my pad. Dorky move lol.

You have so many experts in the stands and future NBA lottery picks on the bench, who cares if you take a winless team full of kids failing class and turn them into winners on the floor and averaging 3.75 gpa when I left.

Football. The hype on Fridays at school, riding the bus to another school with your teammates, kicking your own *** in 3-a-days. Burning a DB on a pattern, getting your number called on a CB blitz. Crushing the weightroom with your team. The whole experience...

I also played hoops and baseball, but don't miss them at all. I do love watching my 13yo play travel fastpitch. She will play college somewhere.

No such thing as travel teams when I played. I think travel teams are beginning to replace high school sports.

They had travel teams when I played back in the late 70s. I had to travel two miles daily, by foot, to/from football practice, basketball practice, and baseball practice.

Lucky you lived close to your school. Mine was a good 15 to minute drive. Of course you had to go through small towns with speed limits of 25 and 30.

I walked 1 block to grade school, 2 blocks to junior high and 3 to high school. Several times we ran to the civic center for practice (our “home court”) when we were allowed.

I live in a large, well funded school district...the sports programs and parents are pretty committed. There are three middle schools which feed into one high school.

The middle schools had to combine to form one soccer team because most of the players were in clubs or travel teams.
