The hell's wrong with Delaware? I just moved to Wilmington and can grab an Amtrak for under $100 and go as far north as NYC and as far south as D.C. Also, no sales tax.
Edit: I do have to agree with all of Indiana EXCEPT Indianapolis. Not a bad place to live and there is always something going on (most of which sports related). It's like high-end vanilla ice cream.
It's getting to the level of obsession, warrior cat.. Every single time I post on the paddock you always seem to find it and start ****, like it gives you a hard-on to argue. Haven't you got anything better to do?Ahh BigBlueDork, you are so much fun to rag on. Snowflakes always melt and start whining when it gets warm. If you are going to engage conversation with adults and give your limited experienced view, expect to be slapped down.
I have not posted anything on you in a month or so. You must have a complex or something. There really is some thing to this snowflake label. You are the biggest pansy on here. Go away little boy and come back when you grow into a functioning adult. A little advice, get away from the morons who have been educating you, they have pussified you. It's getting to the level of obsession, warrior cat.. Most of the mid atlantic doesn't get either one of those four with regularity. Some of the high elevation parts may get a ton of snow, but those tend to mostly pretty rural places to begin with. They happen at times of course, but not regularly for the entirety of the state.Didn't leave much to work with. Basically Hawaii, Arizona, and New Mexico is about all that is left.
I probably would choose the whole Ohio Valley region. If I wasn't born here and lived most of my life here, I probably would never chose to be here. One of the worst areas for allergies in the country. Such inconsistent weather around here. Could be 70's and sunny today and 40's and raining tomorrow.
Family and Kentucky basketball and football are the only things that keep me here. The good thing is it is easy to see the sports from anywhere now. If I didn't have family obligations I would head south to probably Florida or maybe over to Texas. I guess my midlife crisis is wanting to start over in a new place. Screw the motorcycle or sports car. Give me warm weather, a place in Florida, and a job down there and I'm good.
My biggest complaint with Virginia is the inconsistent weather during the fall and spring as well as early and late winter. One day 70+, next day could have freezing temperatures. Or the days where it starts out in like the 30s or 40s and warms up into the 60s and 70s. That up and down weather made the illness I came down with this winter last for months. Just about as soon as I would get over it, the temperature would drop/raise like 30 degrees the next day and boom the illness would rear it's ugly head again.I'm out on:
The deep, backwards south: Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana (except NOLA).
The flat middle: Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma, Missouri
The empty west: Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, the Dakotas, Utah
The boring midwest: Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois except for Chicago, Minnesota, Michigan
Then take out New Jersey, Alaska, West Virginia, Delaware.
So that's half. The other half I'm okay with. Prefer Kentucky, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Georgia, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, California or any of the Maine/Vermont style New England states.
I'd stay away from Northern Virginia if cost of living is a factor. It's absurd up there, and the traffic is a damn nightmare. Luckily I live in Central VA so I can avoid it all the time.Pretty tired of New York.. Aside from the central North and a few deep south states.. New York might be one of the worst.
I'm only here because my base of family and friends. If I could choose, I'd probably go mid-atlantic... Virginia or the Carolina's. Cost of living, weather, better job market for IT...
And most of all, I'd be closer to Kentucky and get out of being a Jets fan..
If it's so great, why didn't you stay?
Any good Deep Sea Charters there in Del.?
Oh go stick it with the garden State pkwyThere are nice parts in every state of the union. I could live in ANY state, ya bunch of snowflake pussies!!!!

Lake DeGray AR is nice. Ouchita Mtns are nice. Hot Springs is nice. NLR -- ok....SLR--yuck.-been duck hunting in Ark a few times. Not sure i would visit out of season. Little Rock and westward are meant to be nice...never been to that part or the state.
You strike me as a Wickenburg guyIf you are very well off and can afford to live in one of the coastal enclaves, or in Northern CA, California is a good place to live. Northern CA is like a different state.
I lived in SoCal for five years in the late 70s and loved it. Returned about 1990 and lived there another 20 years, watching a good place go down hill.
Retired nine years ago and moved to a Phoenix outlier town and have loved it.
Trying to plan trip with 7-8 friends for the late part of the summer. Remind me, and I'll let you know what I find. I've only been here for around a month.

I'm with rudd1, if I didn't need to live in a "city" to make money, I wouldn't. They're great to visit. Fortunately, I live in a 20,000 person or so city that's very congested but it still has the small town America feel.
I visited Key West during March, 2014. Camped out 2 days at Sigsbee NAS. Hit up Green Parrot. Decent local crowd. Really fun town. I should have stayed at Trumbo Point, but I'm ever the cheap-***. Below is sunrise at Sigsbee on March 19, 2014. Simply gorgeous.I'm with rudd1, if I didn't need to live in a "city" to make money, I wouldn't. They're great to visit. It's out there and generally takes money to find it.I want to live in a rural-ish area but still close to a town. Basically, I don't want a next door neighbor, but I also don't want to drive a GD hour to get to the Krogers.
[laughing]Bigbluerick goes to north dakorota to visually rape women
Any place with legit Asian food is a place I can be. If it has the word dragon or Fuji in its name and serves a buffet on the weekend, not legit. I'm talking ordering from picture menus with no English, empty fish tanks in the front with PVC pipe going to the back and the mop bucket with mop sitting in the bathroom. That's legit. Anything rated above B is not legit either.
Preferably Korean BBQ as well.

+1.California
Taxes are outrageous and cost of living is a joke.

How exactly did Southern California go downhill within two decades?
Nice little town. Basically a bedroom community..away from the hustle and bustle.Wickenburg is always a stop both coming from and going to Vegas/Laughlin. My wife's favorite thrift store is there.
Never been there, but do you understand how many bad laws, job losses, terrible politicians, and other bad things can happen in two decades? How exactly did Southern California go downhill within two decades?
Dependable electricity too.California
