Niacin is a wonder drug if you have belly fat. It basically B-3 that blocks belly fat from forming. Lost 3 inches around my waist by taking Niacin, drinking water, and jogging 2 miles a day at a slow pace.

It works.

Same here buddy! I stop drinking soda and fried foods, cut down on my overall calorie intake, started a pretty intense five day a week workout regimen (previously hadn't worked out at all) and took niacin. Lost 15 pounds in six months! That niacin is a wonder drug!

Quite a coincidence. I initiated Navy Seal training while only eating two raisins a day for 3 months then I took Niacin and lost 5 pounds. It truly is a wonder drug.

Simple and honest question: Wouldn't 3 protein shakes be bad for you? Like destroy your kidneys bad? I'm not in the medical field so I'd like to see your take on it Rogue/Spears. I have student athletes that ask me these type of things and I actually think too much protein is bad for your body. But again, I'm not into sports medicine.

Nah, tell the little juvenile delinquents to drink up. Chase the protein drinks with a couple red bulls while they're at it. You don't need kidneys at that age anyway.

If you need to drink 70-90 grams of Protein a day via shakes, then something is wrong with your diet.

Ideally, you should get all your protein from proper food sources, but that also means higher caloric intake. So you drink a protein shake (120-150 calories) to offset something like a a Ribeye steak (400+ calories). It also helps for convenience.

But 3 shakes a day is pushing it, especially if your not lifting every day.

Well I do lift everyday because I just love doing it to be honest. And no 3 protein shakes a day isn't bad for you, pretty normal for people that lift. One in the morning, one after you lift and one before bed. If you're trying to gain muscle you need (and it varies depending on who you talk to) about 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight per day.

So say you weigh 200 lbs, 3 protein shakes will be about 60-100 grams of protein depending on what you use. Then the rest comes from your food. Going over by a little won't hurt anyone but going under makes it harder to build muscle. If you go way over its just wasting protein because your body can only process so much at a time. Some BCAAs while you workout is a good idea too.

Most people that are trying to gain will hurt their kidneys using creatine(which I use too) but that's because they don't drink enough water. Need a minimum of about a gallon a day or yes you can hurt your kidneys. I drink about a gallon at the gym and then just like normal the rest of the day.

I also get blood work done a couple times a year. My levels are all well within normal limits.

Tempted to get a gym/lifting/exercise thread going... But Paddock posters get extremely touchy when it comes to physical prowess, if memory serves correctly.

You stand there looking in the mirror when you lift? Make loud grunting noises in a shirt 3 sizes too small for you even as your raisin sized nuts poke out of your bicycle shorts like titty nipples? Then yeah, you deserve it.

I like to think I'm the resident expert on Ace Frehley, being a KISS fan since 7 years of age and reading all of his, Gene Simmons', and Paul Stanley's autobiographies to get a thorough view on his persona.

It wouldn't take much for you to be Ace Frehley, honestly.

My 6 yo grandson, soon to be 7 is a big Kiss fan. He pulls them up on You Tube, sings along and has a "concert". We bought tickets for his birthday to see KISS in Huntington, WV on Sept 10. It will be epic I'm sure.

As far as supplements, I take B12, a multivitamin, Probiotics, and my Dr. told me to start taking Fish Oil on my last visit.

Ummmmm, why yes I do. Most people do. You know they're there for motivation and to help you perform exercises correctly and with proper form, right? It seems the gym is a confusing place for you, you could really use the gym thread as much as anyone apparently.

Yeah, you should. I really enjoy discussing the different approaches to eating and lifting. I would start one but it would end up with a bunch of guys asking me how many blow jobs I give in the bathroom and whatnot. Real high brow, interesting stuff.

Yes, the weights move. You move them in repeated patterns which make up the repetitions of a certain exercise. You do multiple exercises in a workout each day. This is an exercise regimen.

I'm telling you Z, you could really learn a couple things from a thread dedicated to lifting and eating buddy. I'd be more than happy to break it down for you.

Just added Green Tea Extract pills to my lineup. Good to rev your metabolism and burn fat stores, provide energy, and also many of the same benefits of green tea in general.

Supposedly it's clean energy and not some crazy stimulant (compared on the spectrum of supplements).

A little jitters on the 2nd day, but took it on a empty stomach with a cup of black coffee after. And because it's green tea and is in many ways a natural detox, had a little case of the "runs" today. Otherwise, it's been good. Will need a week or two to see how this affect metabolism and fat-loss.

Anyone take these?

Potassium, Niacin, and I eat very well. (I didn't read all the posts but I agree with the niacin.Take the kind that gives the burn, the no burn crap is useless.) Then I eat again, that is the part that keeps the weight on me. I eat three times as much as I should. I eat very good food but too much.

I try and avoid even moderate supplements. If it can cause any form of anxiety or mess with the CNS, I won't go near it, and Green Tea supplements seem to be just before the border.

Niacin appears to have some decent side affects?

I have not had any weight loss but I have taken it religiously since about January. My Blood pressure was good anyway but it got even better after the niacin. I just figured it was cleaning out my veins..

A handful of Omega 3 caps to help the handful of Turmeric caps be absorbed properly
a multi B
a probiotic (pill form, not capsules, so it travels farther in the system before dissolving)
A calcium tab and a magnesium tab b/c the body can't do **** with calcium w/o magnesium.

I take a lot of the same stuff that is listed on this thread and some more. I supplement freak. I'm in the best shape of my life at 39 years old thanks to CrossFit and Oly lifting. I count macros as well. But the best thing you can do for yourself, well maybe not the best but very helpful, is begin every shower with 5 mins of cold water. It sucks but it is so beneficial. If you can handle it I highly suggest trying it. It will not disappoint. Especially if you do some form of exercising, whether it be will hardcore or very moderate.

Lineski, i bet you've taken so many supplements that you don't even have testicles anymore. You just have a scrotum full of green tea, co enzyme10, fish oil, etc.

I am a year younger. Crossfit has got me in my best shape ever. I take a lot of the same supplements as well. The only think I do different is take a cranberry pill. I had four bouts with kidney stones. Have not had one since taking them going on two years now.

I mix two tablespoons of vinegar with water before bed, and drink it every night.

It helps keep your stomach flat, and also helps keep blood sugar stable, at least it does for me.

I also eat half an avocado a day, along with raw almonds and walnuts.

Kidney stones suck, you can always throw a few splashes of lemon juice in your water every day "specially in summer" and it will stop em from forming.

0 supplements or vitamins.

Jog (treadmill) 10 miles a week, cut down on portion sizes, try to avoid bread & potatoes, and just make healthier choices here & there. Still eat my share of cheeseburgers & ice cream though.

Started in late January, lost 15-20 lbs, seems to be working. I've plateaued at 210

Without googling, what does a cold shower do that puts it at the top of your list? I've read that the benefits are mostly skin related. .. Which I should do, as I have horrible northern European skin.

As far as shower hack tips.. I try and do luke-warm showers. If I remember, I'll blast cold for the last few minutes or as long as I can handle. Because of summer heat, I almost exclusively take cool to cold showers these months.

What does cold showers do other than make your penis shrivel up?

My favorite dad-joke is going to a cold body of water and telling people "it's *this* cold!" while holding up my thumb and index finger to indicate an inch or two.

Seriously, invite me to your next party. I won't disappoint.

Cold showers gives me a bit of an energy boost, really once you get used to it you won't want to go back to warm showers.

Then there's this hoss... apparently there's all sorts of health benefits if you take it next level

Def like that roast a bowl thing. I may try it. I like that testosterone bit too. Isn't that what helps to keep healthy boners

And keeps you leaner so the healthy boners look like bigger healthy boners. It's a win win
