No brainer. I was at both Bluegrass Miracles. The one in which we won at the time was like one of the happiest moments of my life. That was a really awesome time and a very very very electric atmosphere commonwealth has never rocked like that before.

Oh yea - 3-0
even worse!!
Honestly, I agree with someone above - the UofL win, "Stevie got loose" game was hard to beat. I wasn't there for the LSU 3 ot win
If we beat Ark in the 7ot game - that would be #1 - even in the loss that game is a great memory - I bet there wasn't 20k left to watch the overtimes

In games I actually attended:

1) Watching us beat the Gators in '86 when I was in school at UK.
2) Watching us beat the Vols in 2011 with my son.

I've seen a number of our infamous losses and won't bother to mention them here.

Beating AR & Petrino in 08 with two late TD's in a near empty stadium - except for me - was fantastic. Oh ye of little faith!

You may be thinking of another scintillating win in the Curry era when we beat East Carolina 6-3 in 1993 to secure Peach Bowl eligibility.
I knew there was a 6-3 in there somewhere....gosh I've seen a lot of bad football :scream:

I was at that game. There were not many people there. That might have been the Marty Moore Clemson year.

My fave was probably that epic game where we beat LSU, when LSU was ranked #1. I even rushed the field with rest of the Commonwealth Crazies!!! It was absolute circus after that game. Wow!!!!!

-UGA in 06. Mom died earlier in the week(at home...hospice is a wonderful organization)...spent that sat morning making arrangements. Listened to the 1st half between funeral home/florist visits. Called my nephew and told him to meet me at the gate before 2nd half...UK sealed the deal.

-most everything in life is more important than sports and fandom...but there is nothing wrong a little diversion, especially during trying times.

Well, the LEAST favorite game I ever attended at Commonwealth was November 15, 1986. The weather forecast had been for temps in the 40's & 50's. It was about 30 at kickoff and dropping. At halftime, everybody was crowded into the bathrooms, which had heaters hanging from the ceiling. And, of course, there was the final score. [cheers]

Good luck on Saturday.

UK needs to be able to schedule Florida in November again.

Tough to beat the Louisville and Alabama games Mumme's first year. Not sure anything touches those ... just pure joy.

The Vandy game at home Joker's last year. No waiting at concessions or bathroom and sat at the 50 the whole game . . . stretched out across 3 seats.

Bama game for me. A friend gave me tickets at the last minute because he couldn't go.

Electrifying atmosphere during and after the game.

LSU 07 and UL 07 are both up there for me. LSU was the bigger win but UL was big for me because I thought we had lost after the personal foul penalty and then "STEVIE GOT LOOSE ! "

Man I was there for those games. Unreal. These were the greatest. Thread

For us old guys, kicking Penn State's butt back in 1976, would be my 70's game, Beating Georgia in 1988 for the 80's, Alabama in the 90's, LSU in the 00's and the Tennessee game in the 10's.

I loved both the Louisville and the LSU games in 2007. However, living in Louisville the UofL game has to be #1 for me. Any UK fan that lives in Louisville will probably agree. The Louisville fans are the worst. We were told that we would never beat them again.

Similarly, we are being told the same thing now. That is why the Loserville game will always be the most important one on the schedule for me.

I've been going regularly since around 1990 and there are three that stand out above all others (ranked in order of greatness):

1) LSU 07: Crazy, big-time atmosphere that day. Tons of Tiger fans, tons of UK fans, lots of respect all around after that slugfest. Our guys made so many big plays that day. A lot of people forget that we were down 17 at one point.

2) Bama 97: Not your granddad's (or today's) Bama team, but UK played Bama so seldomly, it was awesome to see the Bama RV caravan rolling in on TUESDAY and all of those Bama fans streaming out of there in silence. I don't know that I've ever heard CWS louder than it was that night (especially on the Blocked FG for TD and then in OT when Yeast ran into the end zone).

3) UL 07: This UL team was vastly overrated (as usual), but they were ranked #7 at the time (giggle). But, the atmosphere was amazing that night and I nearly had heart failure when Stevie caught that ball. A few oft-forgotten facts about that game:
- One of our O-lineman had just gotten a terrible Personal foul penalty on the play prior, so Stevie's catch was on a 3rd and 20 (or something like that) play.
- Rich Brooks made one of the worst coaching decisions of his life not going for two after Stevie's touchdown. No reason to kick XP to only go up by 6.
- UL damn near broke our hearts with a hail mary, as Brohm was able to complete a 50-yard pass on the last play of the game, but thankfully their WR was tackled at around the 10. A TD would have made Brooks' aforementioned blunder a real ***** to live with.

The Louisville game is an expected pick but the reason it has to be at the top is the whole game day atmosphere that day. Those that were there can tell you there was a different kind of electricity in the air all day and all through that stadium. I've never felt an excitement in the place like that at kickoff and the ending just made it complete. I remember my Dad and I walking up the ramp to our seats and hearing the crowd inside and outside the stadium and telling him, "Man these people are fired up for this one".

The LSU game ended great but not sure there was the anticipation of excitement leading into it like the UL game.

I guess I'm a "little" older than most of you folks.

I saw live at the stadium nearly all of the games mentioned in the above posts, but my favorite game at Commonwealth dates back to 1977, when we beat UT 21-17 in a game that went down to the last possession and finished the season 10-1.

That's a good one Weep. I was there too and what made that one was the scene on the field after the game. We couldn't go bowling but everybody stayed and had a little celebration at what they just accomplished. Can watch it on youtube.

The coldest game at Commonwealth Stadium in my opinion. Best part was Fran Curci in his post game press conference telling everyone that he went up to Johnny Majors before the game and told him we were going to kick your *** today.

I could be wrong (I'm getting old and memory sometimes fades.), but I think the coldest game you are referring to was Coach Curci's last game in 1981's 3-8 season, when we beat UT 21-10.

I was also at that UNBELIEVEABLE win vs. LOSERVILLE back in 2007. It was a truly magical environment that I'll never forget.
