Thank you lol!

Quick question what post count did you get ALL-SEC? I feel like I've been stuck on Senior forever.
I would be rated All-American but for some reason the first decade or so of my history here disappeared; I was a member with the same account at least 10 years before it says I joined. By the way I thought the mod thing was an April Fool's joke. lol Congrads.

Seriously, where’s our dude?? If he’s alive at all he may need some help and the people on this board have helped a lot of people over the years we knew less well than @IL Wildcat

Does no one heard a thing about how he’s doing or how to contact him?
Hey you guys! I was having some health related issues back last fall. That was when I stopped posting initially. I'm feeling much better and will be back. I was still following my Cats, though, and that will never change.

It’s funny, it’s easy to see these names on the screen and just shrug it off as being an unknown online person. But as weird as it might seem to go searching out someone in real life, it’s kind of a cool reminder that all of these names are real human beings with lives and emotions and such. Some of them we’ve pleasantly interacted with for years like @IL Wildcat It’s genuinely good to know you’re still doing well, friend 😊

That win over the Illini was awesome! I don't have many Illinois trash talkers down here Southern IL, thankfully, but I was wearing my blue for a full week afterward. There are almost as many UK fans in this area as IL fans. Of course, I'm a transplant- grew up in northwest TN watching the Cats on WPSD out of Paducah. Funny thing is, when we moved to IL back in 1999, our NBC station is still out of Paducah. Several folks in this area grew up watching the Cats as well.

Get well brother, take care of yourself.
Yep, I'm getting there. I had a mini- stroke. Realizing more and more that I've got to get serious about my health or it's gonna be gone. But I'm doing much better. I'm aiming to lose about 50lbs. We'll see how that goes.

By the way, reading through some comments here... I did support Calipari until the bitter end, which for me was that loss to Oakland. It was then that I knew Cal's time at UK was over. One win in the SEC-T and one in the NCAA-T since 2019. 2 losses to double digit seeds in the last 3 seasons of the NCAA. You can't justify it. Even Calipari knew something had to change.

And I love the Mark Pope hire for multiple reasons. I'm definitely all in on Mark Pope. I loved the team this season- hated the injuries we kept having, was hoping we could catch a break but we never really did. I would have loved to see how that team could have done if they could have stayed completely healthy and kept everyone available. Oh well, it was good to get out of the first weekend for the first time since 2019.

Glad you're on the mend. This place can be hard on the ole blood pressure. Sometimes a break is essential.

It's great --- GREAT !!!! --- to know ILWildcat is still ok ! Love ya brother ! Thanks to everyone that thought to look around and get word to us. Many of us wondered.

Maybe we expect a missing chair every now and then, we've lost great posters and they watch from on high now. But in this case, we don't have to wonder or worry about another seat having to be taken up on the great sidelines in the sky !! I have actually left instructions to my significant other to get word here in case of my own untimely passing. I have enjoyed being here many years and hope for many more with all of you !

BBN is my family !

Future is bright, get back here and join in the fun ILWildcat !

we missed you !

Go Big Blue !

Oh yeah, Anna is about 25 miles south of where I live, which is in Herrin, IL. I've been here for 25+ years now- arrived in December of 1999.

You are too kind Runt! I've always planned to come back. But what called me back today was a fellow BBN member from this board who found me on Facebook. Haha! It's good to be back and to know folks care enough to check on me. I'm excited about the future as well. I think Mark Pope has us on a good trajectory. This coming season could be very good. 😃

Nice! I left way back in 85. I remember Herrin well though. Took golf lessons from the pro at Franklin County Country Club back then and played at a bunch of junior tournaments in the area. Fun fact, Herrin is the home town of Steve Fisher! That always stuck with me, for whatever reason.

Glad to have you back, buddy! I've missed your posts over the course of the season. I'd be curious to hear your final thoughts on this year's squad?
I loved this team! I hated the injury bug kept biting us. I would have loved to see what this team could have done if they could have remained at full strength. I loved this team's experience and their shooting. The only thing this team lacked, in my opinion, was some elite athleticism and guys who could create offense in a pinch. We had 3 guys who could do that to some extent- Robinson, Oweh, and Butler. But there were multiple times where those guys struggled to create, and then we lost Robinson and Butler was injured and missed multiple games. I love that our offense doesn't depend on guys being able to dribble by people, but there are moments when defenses have zeroed in and you need guys. I think making a Sweet 16 was a great first season for Pope. I am happy with that, though I'm hoping we go up from here. 😀

Glad you’re back . I guess I should apologize for bringing unwanted attention to you . I also look pretty stupid for insisting that you would have never left without saying anything. I need to mind my own business from now on .

We have a golf group of about 15 guys and play a different course every week . Last year we were on a group text the night before we played , making plans and just joking around. One of our guys stopped texting and replying and we figured he had gone to bed . When he didn’t show up the next morning and wouldn’t answer our calls , someone phoned his daughter and she found him sitting in his recliner with the phone still in his hand. Guess it made me a little paranoid about what could happen. Anyway, I’m embarrassed I made the post .

I Had 3 Strokes over a 6 week period back in 2008! Tried to lose weight, was very hard. I am 6' 2" weighed 364 Lbs. Had Many TIA's after that even though I lost 54 lbs. They put me on Trulicity and now Ozempic. I now way 175 Ibs. Have not had a single issue in 10 years or more. Health is perfect. Just spent two months skiing in Tahoe on mostly double black diamonds. Skied every day 8 hours. I stay active , at 73 years old , feel like I am 30 years old.
I also had a heart attack when I was 34 years old. Got Parkinson's disease in my 40's. Lung, thyroid and throat Cancer in my 50's.
Biggest issue is getting your weight down and your faith up. Trust me when I say my faith is much stronger today with all that God has brought me thru. I Have no tremors now, no cancer anywhere, no heart disease. Stroke left me with speech problems and left side paralyzed. Did I tell you I ski? No weakness in my body now! And yes, I preach Every Sunday at Living Waters Church of Homestead. (Facebook) He is no respecter of Persons, so if he will do it for me he will for you! Cast those mountains into the sea!!! Be Praying for you my Brother.

Wow! Well praise the Lord for his grace and mercy toward you bro. That's quite a testimony. I'm hoping to have a similar story, especially regarding the weight loss. I'm about 5-11 and 250. I've had weight issues all my life and it caught up with me. I'm 53 now and i just can't keep slamming the cheeseburgers and fries like I have most of my life. I appreciate the encouragement. I need it. I could hire someone to come slap me around a bit, although I've realized I'm a stubborn guy and I had to decide to take this leap myself. 😀

Someone at work is on that diet and swears by it isn’t it close to the atkins diet?
Yes, very similar, very low carb, high in protein and lots of green vegetables. There was a time when it was frowned upon by many dieticians but not anymore. I've lost weight on it before but would gain it back. This time I've got to maintain it.
