Some of the complaints on here are legit. But what's not being talked about is that this was the first true road game for several of the players and for the team as a whole. Kelsey has little man syndrome and is an angry pit bull of a human being. He seemed to have transferred that mentality to the fans because they were rabid and foaming at the mouth loud and angry. The first road game is tough for any team, but to be thrown into this high-pressured rabid invested place in one of the hottest rivalries in the nation, PLUS they were buttsore from being beaten down for the past decade and a half.. Well, that's asking a lot of any team, no matter how experienced they are. Then, after getting down 20 in this insane environment, we had a wide-open three that would have cut it to one. We made one! as in ONE fewer 3pt shots and one more 2pt shot. Out-rebounded them, had more bench points, and a better FT% % even though we shot fewer. We had 8+ turnovers, but the environment explains that. When the game reached the final 4 minutes, it was a 4-point game. Literally anybody's game from that point. They missed seven straight FT attempts, and we didn't capitalize on them. that's what cost us the game. Lastly, we definitely underestimated lil bro. They look like an E8 to FF team. We will improve, and they will too. I hope we see them in the NCAAT on a neutral court with JQ and hope we have improved more than they have. Lowe is a freshman who was thrown into this high-pressure game in the THIRD game of his college basketball career. All in all Lowe did well. Oweh sucked and needs to improve, but as bad as he was, we only lost by 8. Garrison is not nearly as bad as most think.

I was proud of the team as a whole and had I expected the loss.
Pope needs to be better for sure,
I didn’t appreciate the Cal-like responses in the post-game interview with Tom Leach.

Excuses are BS. You’re at UK to play in this game. If this game is too big for you, why did you come here?
That was amateur college basketball. That died. Now this is Semiprofessional College Basketball. Our tradition and 5 bucks might buy you a cup of coffee at the Kroger. Now its all about SHOW ME DA MONEY!!!! So your comment should read, You're at UK to take your MONEY!!.. Don't you love NIL?

You make some good points, but, just stop with the loser mentality of ”proud of this team and expected the loss”. Screw that. This isn’t a charity. We have a very talented, and experienced roster. We have a coach that’s expected to beat Louisville every year. I think this team will be good, but, strike 1 is losing to Louisville. Two more strikes and then the gloves come off with Pope.

Geez.. my bad, that part of my post looks like I had an Oweh moment. No worries it's early season, ima get better, I'll be ready for conference posting
You know who was a freshmen playing in his 3rd collegiate game? The leading scorer Mikel brown jr. We had no answer at all for him. Our true freshmen Jasper Looked as if he didn’t want to be in the floor. Not the same player we saw against Purdue but he will be fine.

pope has to coach better, we have the pieces but if he doesnt put them together and teach them multiple defensive sets we are going to get more of what we received from cal just with older players.

Things always look good in fantasy land. Just keep predicting long winning streaks and tournament championships, but don't check the score board and all will be fine!!

Florida lost away from home in a big game.

Michigan barely survived un-ranked Wake Forest playing in Detroit.

Stuff happens. If we find ourselves in a trend of losing big games this year, then fine, we can begin to criticize more harshly.

I think we can be very good. Lowe being out is a blow, but we have a capable second option. We have to adapt.

None of our coaches have beat Louisville every year. Not Rupp, Not Pitino, Not Tubby and Not Cal.

You’re correct. It’s not the end of the season. However, it’s fair to question why the defense was so bad, after Mark, talked about how much better they would be from last season. Even you can’t argue this.

Look, like I said, I love Pope. He was my number 1 choice to replace Calipari. He has been great so far, however, he’s not above being second guessed, and he would tell you the the same thing.

I agree the defense still needs a lot of work. But I also can see our defense so far is better than it was last year and the analytics so far back that up. I believe it will continue to get better as the season plays out. Now if that doesnt happen that is a valid reason to start asking questions and in your previous words be Strike 1 worthy toward Pope. But I think your post saying losing to Louisville was strike 1 was not called for as no coach has done that. Just gave out vibes of finding anything negative to tear down Pope. No coach and I mean none is perfect. Have a great day sir.

Fair enough I suppose. We’ll see. Before conference play starts, we still have to play Michigan State, UNC, Gonzaga, Indiana, and St John’s. My God, that’s just a brutal non conference schedule. Honestly, possible that we lose all 5. Don’t think it will happen, but, those are 5 really good teams.

You can also say, that according to those stats, Louisville could have played a lot better. I first thought we played bad, but when I saw the stats. We shot the ball well (had a better shooting percentage) and made more field goals. Other than defensively we did not play that bad.

And since student athletes have been replaced by professional players with Kentucky on their jerseys i think they are fair game for harsh criticism.

Depends. Discussing their footwork or their shot form, shortcomings playing defense, etc, yeah. Saying they are lazy or didn't try when there is absolutely zero idea whether they were or not is BS. Now if they are standing right in front of you and can knock you on your ***, I think its fair game. Also, remember, none of them is under contract to play basketball at KY except for their scholarships and perhaps whatever revenue sharing might turn into. NIL is not between the university and the athlete and that compensation carries no contract between those two parties. Professional, yes. For making commercials and signing autographs. Playing basketball? Ehh, very debatable.
