Some of the complaints on here are legit. But what's not being talked about is that this was the first true road game for several of the players and for the team as a whole. Kelsey has little man syndrome and is an angry pit bull of a human being. He seemed to have transferred that mentality to the fans because they were rabid and foaming at the mouth loud and angry. The first road game is tough for any team, but to be thrown into this high-pressured rabid invested place in one of the hottest rivalries in the nation, PLUS they were buttsore from being beaten down for the past decade and a half.. Well, that's asking a lot of any team, no matter how experienced they are. Then, after getting down 20 in this insane environment, we had a wide-open three that would have cut it to one. We made one! as in ONE fewer 3pt shots and one more 2pt shot. Out-rebounded them, had more bench points, and a better FT% % even though we shot fewer. We had 8+ turnovers, but the environment explains that. When the game reached the final 4 minutes, it was a 4-point game. Literally anybody's game from that point. They missed seven straight FT attempts, and we didn't capitalize on them. that's what cost us the game. Lastly, we definitely underestimated lil bro. They look like an E8 to FF team. We will improve, and they will too. I hope we see them in the NCAAT on a neutral court with JQ and hope we have improved more than they have. Lowe is a freshman who was thrown into this high-pressure game in the THIRD game of his college basketball career. All in all Lowe did well. Oweh sucked and needs to improve, but as bad as he was, we only lost by 8. Garrison is not nearly as bad as most think.
I was proud of the team as a whole and had I expected the loss.
Pope needs to be better for sure,
I didn’t appreciate the Cal-like responses in the post-game interview with Tom Leach.
GO CATssssssss
