That’s what college basketball has become. Until the eligibility rules change, it won’t get any better.
Hard to implement a strategy when you have no real leader on the floor. Roach has the talent to assume that role. Hopefully he will grow into it.
Strategy and identity start at the top. K is still one of the best to ever coach, but he just isn’t what he used to be. There’s more than just getting the best talent.
Yes he’s always allowed his best talent to get the minutes and shots, but times have changed. Think we have to get better balance. Our role players, other than Goldwire over the last few seasons, have shown little improvement. Think the players aren’t all at fault either.
Duke is also victim of its own success. The exposure they get here causes them to leave for the pros. Every kid off last years team that left were solid college players, but I don’t see any of them being good pros. But, if the nba is throwing around good money, can’t blame them for grabbing some.
