I have twice sat on my penis while sitting to take a dump. Got it caught between the seat and my thigh. Neither time hurt that much at first, but my urethra was damaged both times…pissed blood for a couple of days and getting an erection was excruciating for weeks afterwards

1999: Industrial accident that involved myself, a laborer, and the 20" steel beam we were carrying, when the laborer dropped his end, resulting in the "destruction" of my left knee. I was told that, anything that can be torn/broken, or otherwise hurt, was. The pain was incredible. Destroyed was the doctor's word, not mine, and it was. 4 failed surgeries later they gave me a total knee replacement.

That was 21 years ago, and while I obviously retired from welding, I still work. Now, the other "good" knee is done, kaput, shot. It carried me for so long now it's time for surgery: I undergo total knee replacement on that knee in just under 6 weeks. I dread the recovery like you wouldn't believe, but the terrible everyday pain, plus not knowing if it's going to just give out on you, make the decision much easier.
Good luck with that surgery, hope it goes well. My sister in law just had her knee replaced and is doing great. They've come a long way since you had your other one done.

Thanks.

When I asked my surgeon about any new advancements, he smiled and said " I know what you're asking : yes, in the materials, of course there's been improvements and upgrades. However, what you're really asking about is the recovery, and it's still rough, no sugar coating it".

Going to try to stock up on a little "OTC",..........waaaay OTC, meds, before the big day, ha ha.

Combo broken pelvis and left side collarbone in a skiing accident. Had to try and sleep in a recliner for 2 weeks and couldn't get up steps for another week. Collarbone broken completely in two and "tented" the skin, the bruise from the bone bleed went down past my nipple. If you have ever broken a collarbone, the feeling of one bone in two pieces moving around with even the slightest change in body angle is sickening. The collarbone hurt so bad I didn't notice my pelvis was broken until I tried to stand up to leave the emergency room bed.

Still if I sleep on my left side by accident it's sore as hell the next morning.

I had a pretty heave metal drawer fall on my foot one time at a previous job. Went to urgent care after I got off work because I thought I had broken a toe. Was just a really bad bruise. I had trouble walking the rest of the day. The blood blister took nearly a year to reach the end of my toe lol.

I’ve also dealt with plantar fasciitis. That was not fun when my full-time job at that time had me on my feet for 99% of my shift. I didn’t wear the walking boot at work because the floors were grotesque but as soon as I’d get home I’d throw on a walking boot. Took about a month but finally subsided.

I used to do my best to wreck my body. Hit by many cars, lots of big falls, a couple permanent injuries. Now the big danger in my life is sleeping wrong and screwing up my neck.

I dealt with plantar facsiitis about a year ago; not fun. It's under control now, but over time it led to a hammer toe on that foot, so that's another thing I've had to deal with.

Sucks getting older, ha ha.

When I was about 7 or 8 my friend was standing and pedaling his bike and I was riding on the banana seat behind him with no shoes on. I felt something tugging on my foot and looked down to find my big toe was caught between the chain and sprocket. The brake kept it from going back and with my toe in there it made the chain too tight to go any further forward to get my toe out. So it was stuck there until we could get tools to loosen up the chain. Of course it was a trip to the hospital to get the toe stitched up but it was about 1/2 of an inch from cutting it completely off. I remember we wrapped it in a towel and by the time we made the 20 minute trip into town the towel was full of blood. The worse part was cleaning the grease out of the wound before they sewed it back on. 😬

Second would be 2-3 bad ankle sprains over the years with one being when I stepped out of our camper onto a chair with slides and rolled it over. It still swells and gives me fits.

Bruised my neck in the Adam’s Apple area at work yesterday. Hurts to swallow. You never really realize how much of your own saliva you swallow throughout a day until every little swallow hurts. I eventually ended up getting a styrofoam cup to spit into instead of swallowing.

Yes feel free to take parts of that out of context to make me sound gay lol.

I've (somehow) never had a serious injury, but I've managed to dislocated a knee about once a year since childhood -- most recently about an hour ago. It really, reeeeally sucks right now but it'll be 100% fine tomorrow. I've also been hospitalized with pancreatitis a few time in the past; it's intense, nonstop pain that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Anyway, what's the worst you've ever been messed up? 💀
Around 10 years old, my friends and I thought it would be a good idea to all jump on a trampoline at the same time. The trampoline was really old and didn't have a covering over the springs connecting the metal frame and platform. I ended up getting launched in the air fell off the trampoline, my left leg caught in between two springs with my body hanging over and arms touching the ground. I screamed so loud the neighbors across the street ran over to see what was wrong and ended up tearing ligaments in my left leg.

Did you grow up in Lexington? Because we did this exact scenario to my friends little brother who would have been about 10 in the mid 90s.

Same age and around the same time but I was in Harrison County. Crazy how as kids we don't think about stuff that could hurt and even kill you, lol.

Oh I know. We didn't plan on hurting his little brother, thought we could launch off the trampoline on to the deck. Pretty sure he split his nuts open on the bar 😆

How did you bruise your Adam's Apple without doing something pretty gay, Boston?

Most painful ? my first bout with Kidney stones 3-4 months ago .. damn damn and hot damn. Took a week to pass .. was 4.5 mm. , evidently less than 5 you can pass ..... I had the lithotripsy and either the surgeon lied or the CT scan lied about how well the surgical procedure went . I was having the same pain on day 5-6 after the surgery that I had on day 1 .. indescribable.
Injury wise I had a terrible car wreck Labor Day weekend 1990 . State cop said I knocked limbs out of a tree 20 feet up . Went over an embankment . Severe whiplash , Severe bruising to chest , chipped my teeth , lacerations to face ... next morning drove 535 miles back to college and didnt miss a class . Or at least my wife drove ... damn was she mad ... hard lesson learned , dont drink n drive . I " fell asleep" driving :(

Pleurisy (PLOOR-ih-see) is a condition in which the pleura — two large, thin layers of tissue that separate your lungs from your chest wall — becomes inflamed. Also called pleuritis, pleurisy causes sharp chest pain (pleuritic pain) that worsens during breathing.

One pleural layer of tissue wraps around the outside of the lungs. The other pleural layer lines the inner chest wall. Between these two layers is a small space (pleural space) that's usually filled with a very small amount of liquid. Normally, these layers act like two pieces of smooth satin gliding past each other, allowing your lungs to expand and contract when you breathe.

If you have pleurisy, these tissues swell and become inflamed. As a result, the two layers of the pleural membrane rub against each other like two pieces of sandpaper, producing pain when you inhale and exhale. The pleuritic pain lessens or stops when you hold your breath.

Every breath feels like somebody is stabbing your lung with an ice pick.

I was carrying a large box. Went to open a door, before I could get all the way thru, it hit me on the backside. That caused me to jerk forward and the edge of the box jammed into my throat
I hear gettin' "hit on the backside" will do that to a fella. I wouldn't know of course.

Not that there's anything wrong with that......

I went to the ER one time over the flu and a severe GERD episode at the same time. I legit thought I was having a heart attack. I was out of commission for like two weeks and it took about that long for the pain from the GERD attack to go away. I imagine it must have been some ghastly looking imaging done on my chest for the pain to linger around for that long.

Your story reminded of something that happened to me when I was about 11-12 yrs old….

We were out at my great aunts house, and when it was time to go home, my brother and I went out to the car. My cousin closed the car door on my thumb. What made it really bad was that the palm of my hand locked the door closed and it almost impossible to raise up my hand to get the door unlocked. (This was back in 76 / 77 when most cars didn’t have power locks.).

My thumb was stuck inside the car door for nearly five minutes until my dad was able to maneuver my arm enough to unlock the door.

My thumb was swollen for about three days but miraculously wasn’t broken…. but damn it sure hurt.

I made it through high school basketball, baseball and football pretty much unscathed.

But I had a full rupture of my Achilles’ tendon at Cal’s father/son camp in June 2016. Memorial Coliseum floor in the finals of the Hot Spot competition. My son hurdled me as I was writhing in pain and hit the winner.
I retired a champion!

Similar thing happened to me, went to ER, they ran about 8 different tests and found nothing. Went home, ate a bowl of ice cream, 20 minutes later had the same symptoms. Turns out I’m lactose intolerant. That was my last bowl of ice cream.

I’ve also blown out my left knee twice, 30 years apart. Second one also resulted in a stress fracture of the tibia and surgery.

Sliced the pad of my right ring finger off in a meat slicer while working in a gourmet food shop in college. Had to get a skin graft. That was easily the worst pain I’ve ever felt.

I have mild lactose intolerance. I can normally eat milk byproducts like cheese, for example, but if I drink a glass of milk or like a milkshake then I am destroying a toilet for a few hours and making it practically a necessity for others to wear a gas mask if in the same room with me.

on Memorial Day I managed to cut myself with the tongs I was using to flip my steak. My finger was spurting blood. It was totally healed 3 days later. No idea what happened.

Steak was medium rare and great.

I had my penis lengthened at age 15 from 8” to 10”. worst pain you can imagine. Heart attack at 44, shoulder surgery at 57, knee surgery at 60. Glad I had the penis surgery but it hurt the worst. I usually tie my penis around my waste before I set down on the toilet, and I’ve never had an issue.
