What's wrong with Brea?

Shooting is streaky by nature. We have a segment of our fanbase that expects the season averages to play out every game but the reality is you’ll have a 7-9 game and then a 2-10 game….even Steph Curry’s shooting percentages come together in streaks and lulls

He'll be OK. Didn't play all that much in last game or this one. Something is going on like illness or nagging injury for him. I think he will be back to normal next week.

Its not helping that other teams are really focusing on shutting him down.
If you've got someone in your face, then put a teammate between the two of you. That also requires his teammates to recognize the situation. It's a tough thing. On one hand, from OUR (the fans) perspective it's a beautiful thing to witness with constant ball motion that results in a score, but from their perspective it puts more pressure on the shooter because there's often much less time on the clock, and that "ROI" is always in the back of their minds. "we're really moving the ball well, but not getting anything from it".

He was questionable last game and this game he didn’t seem great. If he had what my family has been passing around the last month I’m not surprised he didn’t shoot well. There were days I didn’t even wanna get out of bed.

Variance.

Look at Steph Curry's 3 point shooting game by game. You'll see some duds.

Wild guess but it seems Brea feeds off the Rupp / fan energy. Not sure of home / away stats but from memory, he shoots better at Rupp. We shall see Tuesday!

Last game he shot 2/9 from three point range and 1/5 tonight. These two games have crushed his season 3 point percentage.
He's down to 48% now.

:)
This a serious question?? It’s a law of averages. Great shooters have great shooting games. Great shooters have poor shooting games. And yes sometimes multiple in a row.

I think he's just frustrated at how hard teams are guarding him. He's not the most athletic guy and he's not able to run off screens or floppy action type stuff and get easy looks. So he's forcing some shots, likely because Pope is telling him to get more shots up. I was surprised we didn't see more Jax and Koby on the court together once Jax got hot. At that point Jax was drawing all the coverage which woulda either given Brea some open looks or pull the double off of Jaxon.

Either way, we made 16 3s and Brea only made 1, that bodes well.

Imagine if Brea and Robinson ever both get hot in the same game. That would be fun!
I think I mentioned this in the game thread. Would be absolutely incredible if we could get three very reliable scorers from deep, preferably one of them a big man (Garrison?), and then you have all these cuts for easy layups.

I think it would benefit him to set some screens.
