Mustang. The Hellcat is a ton of horsepower in a crappy car and the new "bandit trans am" is so white trash I now hate all Camaro variations.

First, you didn't really talk about specifics. A Roush stage 1 can be had for about $6000-7000 above the Mustang sticker price.......whereas a Hellcat is easily in the $70s. And I think Hennessy has several Camaro levels as well. So, what are we talking about.

Now, personally, if I have $75k.....
-1st - I'd have to be quite wealthy just to blow $75k on a car. I'd probably invest it or pay off my mortgage.

-2nd - If I am wealthy enough that throwing $75k on a car is up for discussion, then I'm probably not going to buy a Mustang/Camaro/Challenger. Talk about white trash. What about a used exotic......Ferrari or Porsche? Or what about get a beautifully restored muscle car from the 60's? Or a few fun vehicles......you could get an Ariel Atom and a Polaris Rzr for about that price......ok, that might be a stretch.

had a '65 fastback as my first ride and nothing but Ford's since.

It's no where near an exotic, but it's also a 1/4th of the $75k mark.. I've been looking at 2009-2011 Audi S5s for $18-22k. If the goal is something fast, fun, and turns some heads.. that's a pretty nice option.

I'm tiring of my car and am constantly looking at car sites now. It's getting bad. I really want to hold out until I'm done with payments and just run the car into the ground.. but some of the new cars coming out are just absurd.

That's thinking outside the box. For that price you could get an S5 or a Impreza that would flat out tear the backroads a new one.....and smoke 90% of other cars on the road off the line. And still have plenty left over to buy a Wrangler to go off-roading in and a boat to tow behind it.

Blue. It was a choice of the three. Eff the mortgage and exotics, which would you rather have? That was the question!

Fine I'll play along. The Hellcat is priced in the $70s. A P51 Roush Mustang is probably around $70-80k. The Hennessy Exorcist Camaro is about $90+k......and has nearly 1000 hp and is the only one of these cars that can go >200 mph. So, I'd go Camaro.....

....then sell it to buy something else.

Do they come with a mullet and Miller high life?
8-ball for the shifter as well.

It's like picking which psychotic redneck chick you'd prefer to sleep with. As an adult you know you shouldn't, but if everyone else is going to play...

Although they'd be fun to drive and all would easily liquefy rubber......I bet they're all pretty painful to drive. 700-1000 hp in rear wheel drive cars (probably with weight distributions that are off center)??? They'd likely spin the average driver into the ditch a little too easily.

That's kind of where I'm at. Just can't see buying new anymore. And leases seem to have really skyrocketed (not to mention the lease taxation in NYS).

Eff it, buy used. My only dilemma is the miles already on some of these 5-6 year old vehicles. 70K+ scares me, but should it these days? Probably not.

I agree. My wife and I were looking at a Yu-hoe (Tahoe/Yukon) a while back. I had an '06 Tahoe and loved it. But the inflated cost is just comical. The only Yuhoe's that would fit our chosen budget had 60k+ miles. And we would probably finance it for a fair term. Why in the world would I finance a car for 5-6 yrs if it realistically is only last another 2-4? The thought kinda irks me...

The base Corvette around $55k is the correct answer.

The modern Corvette really is a great bargain. It compares well to a number of exotics for a fraction of the price.

On a side note, the prototype of the next gen 'Vette just ran the Nurburgring in 7'30"......with all the camoflage......with traffic........and not dialed in 100% yet.

For some comparisons: (and I think all of these were w/o traffic, etc)
https://nurburgringlaptimes.com/lap-times-top-100/

Of course, 'Vette purists won't like that it's mid-engine......

My neighbor bought a current generation stingray with 2500 miles for 62k. Y'all are right. For the money there is no better car. However cramming my fat *** into one says...better think bigger.

I'd take this over all of them.

That's sneaky. There are some subtle "tells" which says "don't judge a book by it's cover." Notice the lowered stance, the huge skunk squasher drag slicks, and the trailer hitch on the front may be used to haul it to races.

......Or maybe I'm overthinking it a bit......:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It used to be sneaky but now it's on tv every Monday night. I guess you've never watched Street Outlaws?
