Barney gets Andy beat up over the Fun Girls "Hey Doll"
Barney and the choir with mic turned off
Barney Judo whips Sam the Butcher or his judo teacher does
ANY of the Ernest T Bass episodes especially Barney and Andy teaching Earnest T how to be proper. How do you Do MRS Wiley.
Loved the women escapees. Floyd and Barney cooking burgers and dancing

Floyd was the best.

When Goober rebuilds the car in Andy’s office with Floyd spectating. Amazing.

Side note - I’ve heard that a few seasons into the show, the actor who played Floyd had a stroke which left him unable to walk. He was such a beloved cast member that the writers found ways to keep him in the show by strategically having scenes where he was strictly seated. The show where Goober rebuilds the car in Andy’s office was one of those episodes I believe.

When the Darlings visit Andy’s house and they start yelling for food. We did that for a good 5 years or so at my house.

Not even being a smart *** here, which is difficult, but the AGS was a staple of most afternoons at my house on Channel 27 (WKYT). I had trivia books and used to know episode numbers and all kind of goofy stuff like that. In a long list of nerdy stuff about me, it’s probably in the top three. I had some serious encyclopedic knowledge of the show and characters. I think at some point in the late 80s they stopped playing it on network channels and I gradually stopped watching and forgot most of it. Such a great show in so many ways and when I do catch it I still get a laugh. Timeless.

A bit of a spinoff, but if you were to choose your top five favorite episodes, what would they be? This is obviously not an easy choice, but I'd probably go:

1) The Haunted House - A fun, spooky episode that ended up being the premise for Don Knotts' The Ghost and Mr Chicken.

2) Three Wishes for Opie - Countess Van Talecki.

3) Back to Nature - Web footed, red crested lake loon.

4) Andy on Trial - Barney takes the stand to defend Andy after getting him into trouble. Don Knotts one dramatic scene on TAGS and he knocked it out of the park.

5) Mountain Wedding - Love all of the episodes with Ernest T. or the Darlings and this was the one that had them both including Ernest T's first appearance.

Way too many HM picks to include them all, but Barney's First Car, Citizens Arrest, Barney Joins the Choir, etc are just a few.

The Fun Girls... Only episode with Goober and Gomer.

The Prison Escapee Women... Floyd runs out onto the porch and says if those hamburgers burn its Al's fault.

And the others that were suggested.

Well, the MSU and South Carolina games kind of got me in a football funk for a bit, so I mostly steered clear of the boards other than just reading on occasion. Then, my mother ran into some health issues that she is still somewhat dealing with, so that has had me on the run a bit too. Hopefully, that all calms down and I can get back to posting more. Appreciate you asking.

Oh and another of my favorite moments is from the episode where Opie has a crush on Helen and Barney is feeding him a poem to recite to Helen over the phone. Barn was quite the James Bond with the ladies.

The couple that screams at one another but treats everyone else great, always sticks out. Andy can't fix everything.

Floyd was a scene stealer. His reaction the the “rich widow” deciding to stay a few days is funny stuff.

Don't think that ever happened. They were a secret club and Opie was the keeper of the flame. The barn was a moonshiners barn and his mash caught fire. Barney drunk is always a good one...
