This. A finished basement should simply double the price of a house.

500 Sq ft (?) Garage with two cars...keeping my street and driveway clear. Room for bikes on the wall and power tools mounted on hooks. A big rolling tool chest for mechanical tools and a rack for yard tools. A shelf unit for oil cans, chargers and car wash products (junk and stuff too).

Man-cave is underground and the most perfect room in life.

My garage/mancave is underground. Goes into the downstairs den which has a full bathroom. Low ceilings make it easy to heat and its always cool in the Summer. I seldom go upstairs except to sleep.

I push a button and my garage turns into a big giant fist and I walk outside and shoot my nail gun up into the air and then I mow by yard with a hatchet.

I have the actual plans at home. I drew out detailed plans, then sent to an engineer (friend of a friend), he made a couple of minor tweaks and told me how big the main beam needed to be. Not sure how to paste files on here though, so maybe I can describe it.
Thanks JW! Definitely gets the wheels turning...I can actually think of a lot of uses for that space -which is completely useless right now. Sounds like a sturdy build.

Wanted to do it for a few years, but took awhile to figure out how to do it without building a big long staircase in the way. Once I figured out that part (detaching the existing steps & adding that landing) it wasn't too bad, with only 1 post to keep out of the way of opening car doors.
